13.3cm (5.25") Festplattenrahmen

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einbau in einen 13.3cm-/5.25"-Einschub eines Computergehäuses vorge-
sehen.
In dem Festplattenrahmen lassen sich unterschiedliche Kombinationen von Laufwerken montieren
und betreiben:
• Ein oder zwei optische Slimline-Laufwerke; oder
• Eine 8.89cm-/3.5"-Festplatte und zusätzlich ein optisches Slimline-Laufwerk; oder
• Eine 6.35cm-/2.5"-Festplatte und zusätzlich ein optisches Slimline-Laufwerk
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle ent-
haltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber.

Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den
Einbau von einer Fachkraft oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durch-
führen!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den der Festplattenrahmen eingebaut werden
soll und alle angeschlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der
Netzspannung, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-
/Ausschalter genügt nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Suchen Sie einen freien 13.3cm-/5.25"-Einbauschacht und entfernen Sie die zugehörige
Frontblende.
Dahinter liegt möglicherweise eine Metallabschirmung, die entfernt werden muss. Bei manchen
Gehäusen kann diese abgeschraubt werden, bei manchen ist sie vorsichtig herauszubrechen.
Je nach Gehäuse ist dazu vorher die komplette Frontblende des Gehäuses abzunehmen.
• Montieren Sie das bzw. die Laufwerke in dem Festplattenrahmen.
Abhängig davon, welche Laufwerke Sie in dem Festplattenrahmen betreiben wollen, sind ent-
sprechende Schrauben zur Fixierung zu verwenden.
Zuerst ist das unten liegende Laufwerk in dem Festplattenrahmen zu montieren. Soll unten ein
optisches Slimline-Laufwerk eingebaut werden, so entfernen Sie die schmale untere
Frontblende, die dazu einfach nach innen herausgedrückt wird.
Wenn Sie stattdessen im unteren Teil des Festplattenrahmens eine 8.89cm-/3.5"- oder
6.35cm-/2.5"-Festplatte eingebaut haben und den Computer öfter transportieren wollen,
so empfehlen wir Ihnen, die schmale untere Frontblende im Festplattenrahmen mit ein
paar Tropfen Heißkleber o.ä. zu fixieren. Andernfalls könnte es vorkommen, dass Sie
die Frontblende versehentlich eindrücken.
• Verbinden Sie alle Anschlusskabel mit den Laufwerken und schieben Sie den Festplatten-
rahmen vorsichtig in den Einbauschacht des Computers hinein.
• Schrauben Sie den Festplattenrahmen im Einbauschacht fest, so dass die Frontseite des
Festplattenrahmens mit der Gehäusefront Ihres Computergehäuses abschließt.
• Sichern Sie alle Kabel so, dass sie nicht aus den Anschlüssen rutschen können und dass sie
nicht in einen Lüfter des PC-Gehäuses gelangen. Verwenden Sie z.B. Kabelbinder zur Fixierung.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer und Monitor mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle
Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort wieder aus und kontrollieren Sie
sämtliche Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser von der Netzspannung zu
trennen, siehe oben!

Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The product is designed to be installed into a 13.3cm/ 5.25" plug-in unit of a PC housing.
In the hard drive caddy, different combinations of drives can be mounted and operated:
• One or two optical Slimline drives
• An 8.89cm-3.5" hard drive and in addition an optical Slimline drive or
• An 6.35cm-2.5" hard drive and in addition an optical Slimline drive

Installation
• Open your computer case and carefully remove the cover.
• Look for a free 13.3cm-/5.25" installation slot and remove the attached front panel.
Often there is a metal shielding behind it, which has to be removed first. With some casings, the
front panel can be unscrewed; with others you have to slide it out carefully.
Depending on the casing, you may have to remove the entire front cover first.
• Mount the drives or the hard drive in the casing.
Depending on what drives you wish to use in the hard drive frame, appropriate screws must
be used to attach them.
The underlying drive should be installed first in the hard drive frame. If an optical Slimline drive
is to be installed, remove the small lower front panel that is simply pushed out to the inside.
• Connect all cables to the drives and slide the hard drivecasing carefully into the drive bay.
• Screw the hard disk drive bay tightly into the frame, so that the front of the hard drive frame is
connected to the front panel of your computer case.
• Secure all cables so that they cannot slip out of the ports and obstruct one of the fans in the PC
case. Use cable ties, for example, for fastening.
• Close the computer housing.
• Connect your computer and monitor to the main voltage and switch on all devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off again immediately and check all the cable
connections.

If you do not have the expertise required to carry out the installation, please
contact a specialist or a specialised workshop and let them carry out the
installation!
Switch off the computer in which the adapter is to be installed and all connect-
ed devices. Disconnect all devices from the main voltage and pull out the main
plug. Just turning off the on/off switch is not enough!
If you have mounted an 8.89cm/3.5"- or 6.35cm/2.5"-hard drive instead in the lower part
of the hard drive frame and you wish to transport the computer often, we recommend
that you fix the narrow lower front panel in the drive frame with a few drops of hot glue
etc. Otherwise, you might accidentally press the front panel.
The computer must be disconnected from the main power supply before it is
reopened; see above!
