Pitting
Always only add salt to boiling water. Ensure that the salt dissolves completely in the water. A
number of basic products such as stock cubes, stock and ready-made products also contain
cooking salt and may contribute to the development of pitting in the event of incorrect usage.
Cooking salt can lead to corrosion spots and permanent discolouration on the base of the
juice extractor.
Pitting is a purely visual change and has no effect on the cooking properties of the juice extrac-
tor. Therefore, pitting is not grounds for a complaint.
Rust film and extraneous rust
Particles of iron can be found everywhere in our environment, including in the drinking water.
If they are sticking to the surface of the juice extractor, they may combine with moisture to de-
velop rust and cause damage. Rust film should be removed immediately with a suitable
stainless steel polish (chemist's); carefully rinse with hot water afterwards.
