WARNING!
Leaking feed line due to incorrect installation
Flammable liquids can unintentionally escape during disposal.

Before commissioning, check the system for leaks using a suitable, non-
hazardous liquid, e.g. water.
NOTE!
Secure the cutting ring fitting.
!
When securing the cutting ring fittings, make sure that they are tightened
correctly (1 1/4 turns).
Excessive tightening can damage the feed line. A loose connection can lead to
leaks (ATTENTION: Cutting edge should always face the connection cone).

6.8 Calibrating the sensors

You can find a detailed description of the sensors and the analysing system in

the separate operating instructions supplied with the sensor system.
6.8.1 Float sensors
The switching points of the float sensors are calibrated in the factory. They can be used
immediately.
6.8.2 Capacitive fill level sensors
The ifm KI5030 and KI 5031 capacitive fill level sensors can be recalibrated using an orange
set screw on the top of the sensor.

Slotted screwdriver
▪
Collection container filled with test liquid (only fill the container so far that when the
sensor trips, liquid in the feed line can still drain away.)

Position the test container in the safety storage cabinet and attach the fill level sensor.
➔
Turn the orange set screw to adjust the switching gap so that the sensor trips.
➔
Remove the test container and set up the collection container.
6.8.3 Analogue fill level sensor
An analogue sensor can be used for continuous monitoring of the canister fill level.
Refer to the additional SmartControl operating instructions for details of how to calibrate the
sensor.
