General safety instructions

3.1

Use

Intended use
 Use the Outdoor Unit only under the specified conditions and in
accordance with your planned purpose.
 Observe national accident-prevention regulations in force at the site of
installation.
 The Outdoor Unit must be operated exclusively by suitably qualified and
trained personnel.
 Observe, in particular, the information in the datasheet for the
Outdoor Unit. The datasheet can be downloaded from the following
address: www.narda-sts.com/signalshark3330.

Non-intended use

The Outdoor Unit is not a warning device capable of providing an active
warning of hazardous fields by means of visual and audible signals.
 Regard the Outdoor Unit as a measuring instrument and never as a
warning device.
 Approach unknown field sources only under strict observation of the
current measured and displayed values.
 In cases of doubt, also use a broadband warning device, e.g. RadMan or
Nardalert from Narda Safety Test Solutions.
3.2

Storage and transport

Storing the device under high temperature conditions or in direct
sunlight could lead to overheating and consequential damage.
 Use and store the Outdoor Unit and its accessories only within the
specified temperature ranges (further details can be found under
Recommissioning after transport and storage on page 54).
