sea, it is even more important to clean the barbecue often. Salt and moisture will break
down the protective outer layer of the barbecue, which can result in surface rust.
• When the barbecue is not in use, protect it from rain and contaminants under a
barbecue cover. This prevents surface rust and stops it from getting dirty.
• For long-term storage, such as during the winter, fi rst clean and wipe the barbecue
carefully and then store it under a barbecue cover in a dry, dust-free environment.
CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE BARBECUE
• Wipe the outside of the barbecue with a soft sponge, a mild soap and water. Rinse
with clean water and let it dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• If there are any scratches/damage on the lacquer, it must be treated immediately to
make sure it does not start to rust. Treat any scratches/damage on the lacquer by
fi rst rub away any rust and removing any paint fl akes with a wire brush. Then paint
with rust protection paint for metal in the relevant colour. Always follow the instruc-
tions on the paint tin.
CLEANING THE COOKING GRATES
• Do not use sharp objects to clean the cooking grates, since its surface can be damaged.
• It is not necessary to clean the cooking grates after each use. Let the barbecue burn
at max power for about 5 minutes after grilling is fi nished and then remove the
residue with a brush. Then wipe with paper towels.
• However, the cooking grates must occasionally be carefully cleaned. Use mild soap
and water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry.
• Before grilling, you can oil the cooking grate with cooking oil so that the grill items
do not stick.
CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE GAS BARBECUE
• Wipe the barbecue with a mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or oven cleaners.
CLEANING THE BURNERS
• Remove the cooking grates and the heat diff users.
• Clean the burners with a soft brush or blow it clean with compressed air. Wipe with a cloth.
• Carefully clean the clogged openings with pipe cleaners and stiff wire (such as an
open paper clip).
• Make sure there is no damage to the burners (cracks or holes). Replace the burner if
damage is found.
• Reinstall the burners and make sure the gas valve's mouth piece is fi rmly in the right
position in the burner tube.
• Inspect the fl ames at the burner. A good fl ame should be blue with a yellow tip. If
fl ames are excessively yellow and irregular, oil residue and food deposits may be
collecting on the burner. Try cleaning the burner surface and the holes to improve the
fl ames. Bad fl ames may also be caused by poor gas valve.
