3.16 For power-on work, only tools expressly intended for this
should be used.
3.17 The power supply output connecting cable may not be exten-
ded. Furthermore, only the connector set supplied with the
unit may be connected.
3.18 Use of bare metal leads and contacts should be avoided. The-
se are to be covered by suitable, non-inflammable insulation
or other arrangement and thereby protected from being tou-
ched. The electrically-conducting parts of the connected load
must also be appropriately protected from direct touch.
3.19 If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible,
then the unit must be switched off and protected against unin-
tentional operation. It can be assumed that safe operation is
no longer possible if:
• the instrument shows visible signs of damage,
• the unit no longer functions and
•after prolonged storage under unfavourable conditions or
• after severe transportation stress.
