5. GETTING STARTED

Before connecting and using the charger please read the following points:
– Before installing and using this device, please make sure that it and the
attached devices are suitable and compatible. If there is any doubt of the
connected battery, please consult the user manual of the battery, contact
the manufacturer or consult an expert. The charger may only be used in
combination with maintenance free gel batteries, lead-acid batteries, AGM,
Microvlies car batteries. It should not be used with old, damaged, very
deeply discharged or defective lead/acid batteries.
– The charger is not suitable to be used as a power supply for a low voltage
electrical system or other consumers (e.g. caravans) and also may not be
permanently installed in a vehicle as an accessory.
– The charger may only be used in well ventilated, dry environments.
– The device should be placed on a firm, nonflammable surface. Make sure
that there are no flammable items or liquids in the near vicinity of the device.
– Do not place the charger near the battery that is being charged. During
charging the battery can emit gas which can cause corrosion or damage to
the charger. Place the charger as far away from the battery as the charging
cable allows.
– Do not operate the unit inside the vehicle. Before starting/using the vehicle,
remove the charger cables from the battery.
– When handling the charger and the battery, do not wear conductive jewellery
such as necklaces, bracelets or rings
– Keep wireless devices such as mobile phones away from the charger. The
emitted radiation may interfere or influence the charging sequence.
