Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einbau in einen Computer mit Mini-PCI-Express-Steckplatz vorgesehen und stellt dort
vier serielle RS232-Ports zur Verfügung.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle enthaltenen Fir-
mennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau von
einer Fachkraft oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau wird sowohl die Steckkarte als auch Ihr Computer und
alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den die Steckkarte eingebaut werden soll und alle ange-
schlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung, ziehen Sie
den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Suchen Sie einen freien Mini-PCI-Express-Steckplatz und setzen Sie die Steckkarte dort ein.
Abhängig von der Bauart des Steckplatzes lässt sich die Steckkarte entweder festschrauben oder ggf.
über Clipse o.ä. befestigen.
• Je nach Gehäuse können die herkömmlichen langen Slotbleche verwendet werden oder die kurzen
Slotbleche. Manche Gehäuse bieten sogar direkte Befestigungsmöglichkeiten für die 9poligen SubD-
Anschlüsse, so dass die Slotbleche nicht erforderlich sind.
Sollten die Anschlusskabel nicht vorkonfektioniert sein (Stecker auf den Stiftleisten der Steckkarte), so
beachten Sie die Markierung von Pin 1 auf den Steckern des Flachbandkabels sowie auf der Steckkarte.
• Fixieren Sie die Kabel z.B. mit Kabelbindern, so dass sie nicht in einen Lüfter des Computers gelangen
können.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Computer und Monitor wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche Einstel-
lungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser von der Netzspannung zu trennen, siehe
oben!
Treiber-Installation
• Nachdem Windows gestartet wird, erkennt dieses die Steckkarte automatisch als neue Hardware.
Brechen Sie die Suche nach Treibern ab.
• Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. Alternativ können die
Treiber auch auf einem anderen Computer auf einen USB-Stick kopiert werden, wenn Ihr Computer nicht
über ein CD-/DVD-Laufwerk verfügt.
• Öffnen Sie das Inhaltsverzeichnis der CD und dort das Verzeichnis „Moschip \ MCS9900".
In diesem Verzeichnis fi nden Sie weitere Unterverzeichnisse, in denen jeweils das Installationsprogramm
„stnsetup.exe" zu starten ist.
Beispiel: Für Windows 7 (64bit) befi ndet sich das Installationsprogramm „stnsetup.exe" im Verzeichnis
„Moschip \ MCS9900 \ Windows 7 \ Windows64bit".
Wichtig!
Starten Sie das Programm ggf. mit Administrator-Rechten, andernfalls erscheint eine Fehler-
meldung bzw. die Installation wird abgebrochen.
Beachten Sie dazu auch die englischsprachige Anleitung des Herstellers, die entweder in Papierform oder
als PDF auf der CD vorliegt.

Möglicherweise ist nach der Treiberinstallation ein Neustart von Windows erforderlich.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Bestimmungen.

Intended use
The product is intended for installation in a computer with a Mini-PCI Express slot, to provide four serial
RS-232 ports.

Installation
• Open your computer housing of and carefully remove the cover.
• Find a free mini-PCI express slot and insert the plug-in card.
If screws or other means of securing are provided, secure the plug-in card with the screws or clips.
• Depending on the housing, you can use either the conventional long slot brackets or the short slot brackets.
Many housings even offer direct attachment options for the 9-pin SubD connections, so that the slot brackets
are not needed.
When the connection cable is not pre-fabricated (plug on the connection strips of the plug-in card), please
note the marking of pin 1 on the plugs of the fl atcable as well as on the plug-in card.
• If necessary, secure all cables with cable ties, so they cannot obstruct your computer's fan.
• Close the computer housing.
• Reconnect your computer and monitor to the mains voltage and switch on all the devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all the settings and cable
connections.
Driver Installation
• After Windows has started, it automatically recognises the plug-in card as new hardware. Interrupt the
search for the driver.
• Insert the enclosed CD into an appropriate drive on your computer. Alternatively, you can copy the driver
software from another computer to a memory stick; that is, if your computer does not have a CD/DVD
drive.
• Open the cd's Table of Contents and then the directory "Moschip \ MCS9900".
In this directory you will fi nd further subdirectories, which you will need to start the respective installation
program "stnsetup.exe".
Example: For Windows 7 (64bit) the installation program "stnsetup.exe" can be found in the directory
"Moschip \ MCS9900 \ Windows 7 \ Windows64bit".
You may need to consult the manufacturer's operating instructions in English, provided either in paper form
or in PDF format on the CD.

If you do not have the expertise to install the device correctly, please contact an expert or
a specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation!
Incorrect installation can cause damage to the plug-in card and also to your computer
and all connected devices.
Caution, lethal hazard!
Switch off the computer in which the plug-in card is to be mounted and disconnect all
devices from the mains voltage, by unplugging their plugs from the mains socket! Just
turning off at the on/off switch is not enough!
Before opening the PC again, disconnect the PC from the mains voltage, see above!
Important!
Start the program with administrator rights; otherwise an error message appears or the installa-
tion is cancelled.
You may have to restart Windows after installing the driver.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
