Troubleshooting

Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with
this component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other
components and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks
listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service station to carry out repair work.
Symptom
No sound
Can't switch between func-
tions.
Cassette tray doesn't open.
Can't record
Sound is muddy or distort-
ed. When recording over a
previously recorded tape, the
previous recording can still
be heard.
Playback sound is muddy or
distorted; high frequency
sounds are excessively em-
phasized.
¶ Static electricity and other outside electrical influences may cause the system to operate incorrectly. In such cases,
unplugging and reconnecting the power cord may help correct the problem.
Condensation
When this unit is brought into a warm room from previ-
ously cold surroundings or when the room temperature
rises sharply, condensation may form inside and the unit
may not be able to attain its full performance. To pre-
vent this, allow the unit to stand for about an hour be-
fore switching it on or raise the room temperature gradu-
ally.

wipe the surface dry. Do not use volatile liquids such as
benzene and thinner which are harmful to the unit.
