Safety Information
Ensure ESD protection.
Avoid short-circuits on the PCB.
Always route connecting cables through the grom-
mets of the meter.
Do not cut the grommets shorter than necessary
since this may lower the degree of protection.

Description of functions
The pulse module is an add-on module for meters of the type
UH50.. and UC50.. .
The module is used for the communication of the meter with a
pulse collector for the transmission of the measured values.
The pulse module permits the output of pulses that can be
derived from the energy quantity, the volume, tariff register 1,
tariff register 2 or the mistake status.
Two channels are available whose functions can be parameter-
ized with the service software or in the para menu of the meter.
Output takes the form of standard pulses with fixed values or
"fast pulses". The pulse duration is identical for channel 1 and
channel 2.

Pulse module WZU-P2, WZU-P2L
For connection with the pulse collector, a 2-conductor flexible
cable with a conductor cross-section of 0.25 mm
must be used.
The outer diameter of the cable must be between 4 mm and 6
mm. All cables have to be routed through the existing cable
grommets "a" or "b" in the meter.
Installation of the communication module
The communication modules are connected via a 6-pole reac-
tion-free connector so that installation or replacement is possi-
ble at any time.

Press the 4 side lugs of the housing cover inwards and
remove the cover.
Determine the correct slot.
Note: The modules WZU-P2 and WZU-P2L may be
fitted on both of the slots, whereby fast pulses can be
output only on slot module 2.
Put the communication module into the correct position.
Place the communication module carefully in both guide
slots and push it in.
To connect an external cable, open the grommet matching
the cross section of the connection cable.
Note: Open the cable grommets in such a way that
they enclose the cable tightly.
Guide the cable through the grommet from outside.
Strip the cable and connect it.
Note: Do not connect the shielding braid on the meter
side.
Note: You will find the permitted combinations in the
respective technical description.
Note: The meter recognizes the inserted modules
independently 30 seconds at most after installation
and is ready for pulse output

differ from the description depending on the appliance
parameterization. Certain button functions can also be
blocked.
