Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einbau in einen Computer vorgesehen und stellt dort zwei Parallelports zur
Verfügung.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle enthaltenen
Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle Rechte vor-
behalten.

Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau
von einer FACHKRAFT oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau wird sowohl die Steckkarte als auch Ihr Computer
und alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den die Steckkarte eingebaut werden soll und alle
angeschlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung,
ziehen Sie den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt
nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Falls erforderlich, kann jetzt das Slotblech der Steckkarte gegen ein sog. Low-Profile-Slotblech
getauscht werden, um die Steckkarte in einem Computer mit Slimline-Gehäuse einbauen zu können.
• Suchen Sie einen freien Steckplatz für die PCI-Karte, entfernen Sie das zugehörige Slotblech und
stecken Sie die PCI-Karte in den Slot ein. Schrauben Sie die Steckkarte fest, kontrollieren Sie den
korrekten Sitz im PCI-Slot!
• Wenn der zweite Parallelport der Steckkarte genutzt werden soll, so verbinden Sie das
Flachbandkabel des beiliegenden Adapters mit den Stiftleisten auf der Steckkarte.
Achten Sie dabei unbedingt auf die richtige Orientierung (Pin 1 ist auf der Platine beschriftet, Pin 1
des Flachbandkabels ist farbig markiert).
Entfernen Sie noch ein Slotblech und montieren Sie an dessen Stelle den Adapter für den zweiten
Parallelport.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Computer und Monitor wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche
Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser von der Netzspannung zu
trennen, siehe oben!
Treiber-Installation
Windows erkennt die Steckkarte automatisch. Legen Sie den mitgelieferten Treiber-Datenträger in das
entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein und folgen Sie allen Anweisungen.
Zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieser Bedienungsanleitung waren die Treiber für die Steckkarte im
Verzeichnis „MultiIO" und dort im Verzeichnis „220N-2" zu finden.
Anschließend ist möglicherweise ein Neustart von Windows nötig, bevor die Parallelports einwandfrei
erkannt werden.
Entsprechende „LPT"-Bezeichnungen werden von Windows automatisch vergeben.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

Installation
• Open your computer's housing and carefully remove the cover.
• If necessary, the slot cover for the plug-in card can be replaced by a low-profile slot cover, in order
to enable the card to be inserted in a computer with Slimline-housing.
• Locate a free slot for the PCI card, remove the appropriate slot cover and insert the PCI card into the
slot. Screw in the plug-in card firmly, and check it sits correctly in the PCI slot!
• If the plug-in card's second parallel port is to be used, connect the ribbon cable on the adaptor pro-
vided to the pin terminals on the plug-in card.
Make absolutely sure that the alignment is correct (Pin 1 is labelled on the board, pin 1 of the ribbon
cable is colour marked).
Remove another slot cover, and install the adaptor for the second parallel port there.
• Replace the computer housing.
• Reconnect your computer and monitor to the mains voltage and switch on all the devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all the settings and cable
connections.
Driver installation
Windows automatically detects the plug-in card. Insert the data carrier supplied, with the driver, into the
appropriate drive on your computer and follow the instructions displayed.
At the time this manual was written, the drivers for the plug-in card were to be found in the folder
"MultilO" and from there in "220N-2".
It might be necessary to restart Windows, before the parallel ports are recognised correctly.
The respective "LPT" names are set automatically by Windows.

Incorrect installation can cause damage to the plug-in card and also to your com-
puter and all connected devices.
Caution, lethal hazard!
Switch off the computer in which the plug-in card is to be installed and all con-
nected devices and disconnect all devices from the mains voltage, remove the
plugs from the mains supply! Just turning off at the on/off switch is not enough!
Before opening the PC again, disconnect the PC from the mains voltage, see
above!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statu-
tory requirements.
