Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing the new FORA digital thermometer. As this manual provides
important information regarding proper use of the product, please read the instructions
carefully before use.
Warning: The product is not a toy. Never leave the thermometer unattended and keep
away from children.
Important Safety Information
• The instrument may only be used for measuring body temperature!
• Pay attention when using the thermometer on children and the elderly. The
thermometer should only be used under the supervision of an adult.
• Protect the instrument from any impact!
• Do not store the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or humidity. Avoid
extreme temperatures.
• Avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C. NEVER boil the instrument!
• Store the unit in its protective case when not in use.
We recommend that this instrument be tested for accuracy every two years or after
mechanical impact (e.g. when dropped). Please contact ForaCare Suisse AG distributor to
arrange the test.
What is a " Normal " temperature?
Although the generally accepted "normal " temperature reading is 37.0°C / 98.6°F,
temperature readings can vary from 36.1°C / 97.0°F to 37.2°C / 99.0°F and may still be
considered "normal ". Variations in temperature can be attributed to activities such as
exercise, smoking, eating or drinking. Your temperature is lower in the morning than in the
afternoon. Other variations may occur due to the location of the temperature reading.
While the oral temperature follows the guidelines previously described, a rectal
temperature is generally 0.5°C /1.0°F higher. Conversely, an axillary (under the arm)
temperature will be 0.5°C /1.0°F lower.

Cleaning instructions
Before and after each use, clean the thermometer with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol
diluted in water, or wipe it with COLD soapy water. Please Do NOT soak it in the water for
an extended period of time or sterilize it by boiling, gas or steam autoclaves.
How to take your temperature?
1. Press the ON/OFF button to activate it. The unit will beep and "188.8°C" will be
displayed.
This LCD display test will go on for about 2 seconds.
2. "37.0°C" will appear on the display.
3. As soon as "Lo" and a flashing "˚C" appear on the display, the thermometer is ready for
measurement.
Note: if the room temperature is above 32.0˚C, the room temperature will be displayed
instead of "Lo˚C". If the room temperature is ≥ 43.0˚C the display shows "Hi˚C".
4. Choose the preferred measuring method. Place the thermometer probe
in the chosen location. When taking a measurement, the current temperature
is continuously displayed and the "˚C" symbol flashes.
5. A beep will sound when the measurement is complete.
6. Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the unit.
(The unit will automatically switch off when idle for approximately 10 minutes)

Reinigungshinweise
Reinigen Sie das Thermometer vor und nach jedem Gebrauch mit einem weichen Tuch,
das mit Wasser verdünnten Isopropylalkohol oder kaltem Seifenwasser getränkt ist. Bitte
NICHT für längere Zeit im Wasser einweichen oder durch Kochen, Gas- oder Wasserdampf
sterilisieren.
Wie messe ich meine Temperatur?
1. Drücken Sie die ON / OFF-Taste, um das Thermometer zu aktivieren. Das Gerät piept
und zeigt "188,8°C" an.
Dieser LCD-Display-Test wird für ca. 2 Sekunden fortgesetzt.
2. "37,0°C" erscheint auf der Anzeige.
3. Sobald "Lo" und ein blinkendes "˚C" auf der Anzeige erscheint, ist das Thermometer
messbereit.
Hinweis: Wenn die Raumtemperatur über 32,0°C liegt, wird die Raumtemperatur anstelle
von "Lo °C" angezeigt. Wenn die Raumtemperatur ≥ 43,0˚C ist, erscheint in der Anzeige
"Hi °C".

Qu'entend-on par température normale?
Bien que la température normale généralement acceptée soit de 37,0°C / 98,6°F, les
valeurs peuvent varier entre 36,1°C / 97,0°F et 37,2°C / 99,0°F sans être toutefois
considérées anormales. Des variations de température peuvent être dues à des activités,
comme le sport ou bien la consommation de tabac, de nourriture ou de boissons. Votre
température est inférieure le matin par rapport à l'après-midi. D'autres variations peuvent
intervenir selon l'endroit de prise de température. La tempérarure orale suit les directives
précédemment décrites, la température rectale est en générale de 0,5°C /1,0°F
supérieure. Au contraire, une température axillaire (sous le bras) sera inférieure de 0,5°C
/1,0°F.

Instructions de nettoyage
Avant et après toute utilisation, nettoyez le thermomètre avec un chiffon doux et de l'alccol
isopropylique dilué dans de l'eau ou bien essuyez-le avec de l'eau savonneuse FROIDE. Ne
le plongez pas dans l'eau pour une durée prolongée. Ne le stérilisez pas en le mettant
dans de l'eau bouillante, ou dans un autoclave à gaz ou à vapeur.
Comment prendre votre température
1. Appuyez sur le bouton On/Off pour le mettre sous tension. L'appareil émet un bip et
188.8°C s'affiche. Le test de l'écran commence après environ 2 secondes.
2. 37.0°C s'affiche à l'écran.
3. Le thermomètre est prêt dès que Lo et un ˚C apparaissent à l'écran.
Remarque: si la température ambiante est supérieure à 32.0˚C, le température ambiante
s'affichera au lieu de Lo˚C. Si la température ambiante est ≥ 43,0˚C, l'écran indique hi˚C.
4. Sélectionnez votre méthode de mesure préférée. Placez l'embout du thermomètre à
l'endroit choisi. Pendant la mesure, la température ambiante s'affiche en continu et le
symbole ˚C clignote.
5. Un bip est émis lorsque la mesure est terminée.
6. Appuyez sur le bouton On/Off pour mettre l'appareil hors tension (l'appareil s'éteint

Importanti precauzioni di sicurezza

Cosa si intende per temperatura "normale"?
Sebbene la temperatura generalmente accettata come "normale" sia di 37,0°C, la
temperatura può essere ancora considerata "normale" anche tra i 36,1°C e i 37,2°C. La
temperatura può variare, ad esempio, dopo aver fatto attività fisica, fumato, mangiato o

Istruzioni per la pulizia
Prima e dopo l'uso, pulire il termometro con un panno morbido e alcol isopropilico diluito

Come si misura la temperatura?
1. Premere il tasto di accensione/spegnimento (ON/OFF) per accendere il termometro. Il
dispositivo emetterà un segnale acustico e sul display verrà visualizzato "188.8°C".
Il test del display LCD dura 2 secondi circa.
2. Sul display verrà visualizzato "37.0°C".
3. Quando sul display compare "Lo" e inizia a lampeggiare la lettera "˚C", il termometro è
pronto per l'uso.
Nota: Se la temperatura ambiente è superiore a 32,0˚C, verrà visualizzata al posto di
"Lo˚C". Se la temperatura ambiente è ≥ 43,0˚C sul display compare "Hi˚C".
4. Utilizzare il metodo di misurazione preferito. Posizionare la sonda del termometro nella

Taking an oral temperature

Place the probe tip of the thermometer in one of
the two pockets under the tongue, to the left or
right of the root of the tongue. The probe tip must
be in good contact with the tissue. Close your

prevent the measurement from being influenced
by inhaled/ exhaled air.
Approximate temperature reading time: 10 - 30
seconds is recommended regardless of the
number of beeps.
Taking an axillary temperature (under the arm)
For more reliable results, we recommend measurements of oral or rectal temperatures.
Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place the probe tip under the arm so that
the tip is touching the skin with the thermometer perpendicular to the body.
Position the arm across the chest so the probe tip is well covered by the arm.
Approximate temperature reading time: 3-5 minutes is recommended regardless of the
number of beeps.
Note: Axillary temperatures are generally 0.5°C /1.0°F lower than oral readings.
Taking a rectal temperature
This is the most reliable method of measuring body temperature and it is especially
suitable for infants and small children.
Lubricate the probe with a water-soluble lubricant. Gently insert the probe into the rectum
about 1 cm and switch the unit on.
Approximate measuring time: 10 seconds
Note: Rectal temperatures are generally 0.5˚C higher than oral readings.
Memory
The thermometer stores the last memory reading. If you press the ON/OFF button for more
than 2 seconds, the temperature taken before will be displayed with an "M" in the right
corner of the display.
Replacing the battery
The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced when "T " appears in the
lower right corner of the display. Replace the battery with a 1.55V, LR41 alkaline or GP192
Battery Cover silver oxide type or equivalent.
To replace the battery,
1. Use a cross-head screwdriver to open the battery cover.
2. Pull the battery cover away from the unit.
3. Use a non-metal pointed tool to remove the battery and insert a new battery
with the positive(+) side facing down.
4. Carefully slide the battery cover back into place.
Note: Please keep the battery away from small children and heat.
Warning: The thermometer contains small parts (battery, etc.) that can be swallowed by
children. Never leave the thermometer unattended. Batteries must always be kept out of
reach of children and away from heating sources.

Speicher
Das Thermometer speichert die letzte Messung. Wenn Sie die ON / OFF-Taste länger als 2
Batterieabdeckung Sekunden drücken, wird die zuvor aufgenommene Temperatur mit einem "M" in der
rechten Ecke des Displays angezeigt.
Ersetzen der Batterie
Die Batterie Ihres Digital-Thermometers muss ersetzt werden, wenn in der unteren

Remplacement de la pile
La pile de votre thermomètre digital doit être remplacée lorsque T apparaît dans

LR41, GP192 ou équivalent.
Procédez comme suit:
1. Ouvrez le couvercle de la pile à l'aide d'un tourne-vis cruciforme.

Misurazione della temperatura orale
Inserire la sonda del termometro in una delle due

Memoria

destro del display.
Sostituzione della batteria
La batteria del termometro digitale va sostituita quando in basso a destra del display
compare una "T". Sostituire con una batteria da 1,55V LR41 alcalina oppure GP192
all'ossido di argento o equivalente.
Coperchio vano batterie
Per sostituire la batteria:
1. Usare un cacciavite a stella per aprire il vano batteria.
2. Togliere il coperchio.
3. Servirsi di un attrezzo a punta non in metallo per rimuovere la batteria e inserire quella
nuova con la polarità (+) rivolta verso il basso.
4. Reinserire delicatamente il coperchio del vano batteria.
Nota: Tenere la batteria lontano dalla portata dei bambini e da fonti di calore.
Avvertenza: Il termometro contiene piccole parti (batteria ecc.) che possono essere
ingerite dai bambini. Non lasciare mai il termometro incustodito. Tenere le batterie fuori
