4. Safety
4.1. GROUPED SAFETY MESSAGES
Electrically live components
Risk of fatal electric shock.

» Before starting any installation or maintenance work, disconnect
the device from the mains power supply.
» Electrical installation, maintenance and repair may be performed
only by trained specialists.
» For use only indoors.
» If power cables, sockets or fans are damaged, do not continue to
use the device.
» Do not store liquids in the vicinity of electrically live components.
» Do not operate, plug in or withdraw devices with wet or moist
hands.
Cabinet, roller cabinet or rack toppling
Risk of injury to hands, feet or body.
» It is essential the cabinet is secured against toppling.
» Wear safety shoes and safety gloves.
» Do not store workpieces unsecured.
» Do not open several drawers at once.
» Keep cabinet shell cover clear of objects during transport.
» Set down heavy objects slowly.
» Ensure during movement and transport that all drawers and cup-
board doors are closed and locked.
» Comply with the maximum load capacity.
4.1.1. Cabinet shell fan
Rotating fan
Risk of minor or moderate injury to hands and fingers.
» Do not reach into fan.
» Do not obstruct fan blades with objects.
» Prior to any maintenance or cleaning work, disconnect fan from
power supply and wait until fan blades have stopped moving.
» Wear tight-fitting protective work wear.
» Do not wear jewellery when near the fan.
Hot cabinet shell parts
Risk of burns.
» Ensure adequate contact protection.
» Do not touch fan until it has cooled.

4.2. INTENDED USE

For transporting, storing and using computer, monitor, printer
and other periphery devices.
For work in indoor industrial environments. For use on dry solid
floors.
Use only in a technically perfect and safe condition.
Use exclusively approved Hoffmann Group accessories for modi-
fication or rebuilding.
4.2.1. Computer workstation
Only use the computer with the fan running.

4.3. REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE

Do not make any unauthorised changes or modifications.
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Not for use in areas where high concentrations of dust, flam-
mable gases, vapours or solvents are present.
Not for use where there is exposure to intense heat, direct sun-
light, naked flames or liquids.
Do not overload drawers and storage shelves.
Do not climb onto or sit on computer workstation. Not for trans-
porting people.

4.3.1. INFO Point
To ensure optimal ventilation, do not entirely cover perforated
back panel with easyfix accessories.
4.3.2. Computer workstation
Keep fan and ventilation slots clear and uncovered.

4.4. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Comply with the national and regional regulations for safety and ac-
cident prevention. Protective work wear such as safety shoes and
safety gloves appropriate for the risks associated with the intended
activities must be selected, provided and worn.

4.5. QUALIFICATIONS OF PERSONNEL

Specialists for mechanical work
Specialists in the sense of this documentation are persons who are
familiar with assembly work, mechanical installation, commission-
ing, troubleshooting and maintenance of the products and who
possess the following qualifications:
Qualification / training in the field of mechanics as specified in
the nationally applicable regulations.
Trained specialist for electro-technical work
A trained electrician in terms of this document is a person who has
been respectively trained and who possesses the skills and experi-
ence to recognise and avoid the dangers of working with electricity.
Trained person
Trained persons in the sense of this documentation are persons
who have been trained to perform work in the areas of transport,
storage and operation.
5. Transport
Immediately on receipt check the product for damage in transport.
Damaged products must not be installed or commissioned. Pallet
delivery. Transport on pallet using suitable lifting gear. Do not lift
cabinet off pallet alone. Before transportation to a different installa-
tion location, fully empty the cabinet.
CAUTION
Risk of injury during transport
Risk of injury from improper transport to installation site.
» Wear foot protection, safety gloves and safety helmet.
» Do not transport alone.
» Make sure the paths for movement and transport are clear.
» If features, release parking brake on castors and apply before
work.
» Transport with drawers and doors closed, locked and additionally
secured.
NOTICE
Improper transport
Damage to items of packaging.
» Handle items of packaging in accordance with the symbols and
instructions shown on them.
» Do not drag them across the floor.
» When items of packaging are being transported they must be up-
right, secured with ropes and protected against slipping.
» Be aware of the centre of gravity.
» Use the lifting points provided.
» When putting them down, do so slowly and evenly.
» Do not remove the transport packaging until immediately before
erection.
» Once the device has been erected at the place of erection, re-
move the transport restraints.
