G Operating Instructions
DIS Colour Camera, 1000 TVL, 3.7 mm
Item no. 1217435
Intended Use
This camera is intended for video monitoring and protecting secluded or critical areas (e.g. en-
trance areas, sales rooms, or similar). The camera is very inconspicuous, thanks to its design, and
is camouflaged as a motion detector.
The camera is only intended to be used with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC. The product is
suitable for use in dry, closed indoor locations.
Please bear in mind that it is a criminal offence to observe strangers with a camera without their
knowledge and consent. Observe the rules and regulations of the country in which you are using
the camera.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or converted!
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of com-
panies and products are the trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.
Package contents
• Camera with wall bracket
• Installation material (2x screws, 2x wall screw-plugs)
• Operating instructions
Safety Instructions
D amages due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the warranty!
We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
W e do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for
safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The camera is intended to be used only with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC.
The inner contact of the round low-voltage plug should be Plus/"+", the outer con-
tact Minus/"-".
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. It should be
operated out of the reach of children.
• The use of the surveillance camera does not replace the personal supervision of
children or people who require special assistance, but serves only as a support to
this supervision.
• The camera is only intended for use in dry, closed interiors; it must not get damp or
wet, as this will destroy it.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, mois-
ture, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating instructions
and safety notes for these devices must also be followed.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions for a long time
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employers' Li-
ability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to
be observed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical department or another specialist.
Installation
The camera must not be pointed directly towards bright sources of light, since this will
overexpose the image.
However, the area to be monitored should be well lighted.
• The wall bracket can be attached to the wall using screws. Use suitable screws and wall plugs,
depending on the surface.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that no cables or wires are
damaged.
• Set the camera on the bracket and align it toward the desired monitoring area.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end:
• BNC connector: The video signal (PAL) is available via this connector. Use an adapter if you do
not have a BNC cable for this connection.
• Round low-voltage socket: The external power supply is connected to this socket. Make sure
you only use a stabilised power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC (direct current)
(see also chapter "Technical Data" at the end of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (inner con-
tact = plus/+, outer contact = minus/-); otherwise the camera will be damaged; loss of
warranty!
Set the correct input channel on the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera carefully in order to be able to monitor the desired area.
Cleaning
Only use a clean, soft, dry cloth for cleaning. To remove dust from the camera, you can use a suit-
able dry, clean, soft brush.
Tips and Notes
• Install the camera so that it cannot be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cable. Ideally, it should be laid in a plastic or metal pipe.
• Longer cable lengths cause deterioration in the video signal. In this case, use a suitable ampli-
fier.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop, and the operating voltage
for the camera will therefore no longer be sufficient. This may lead to stripes in the image or to a
loss of signal. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section to reduce the voltage drop.
• No motion detector is included in the product; the camera always delivers a video image when
operating voltage is present (independent of motion/heat changes in the camera's capture
area). The housing of the motion detector serves only to camouflage the camera.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic equipment do not belong in the regular household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer in use, in accordance with the cur-
rent statutory requirements.
