• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by children
or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

°
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable protec-
tive gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a
risk of explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
Inserting/Replacing the Batteries
The battery compartment for a battery of the type LR44/SR44 is located under a cover, which is sim-
ply slid open. Insert a battery, so the plus pole („+") points out, towards you.
The battery needs replacing, if the contrast in the display starts to fade or the sliding calliper can no
longer be switched on.
Data Output
The measurement data can be transferred to a PC via the data output (5) using a suitable connection
cable and suitable software (not included in the package; available as an accessory). Please follow the
operating instructions for the connection cable/software.
Operation
• Clean the surfaces of the measuring bridge and the test prod before each measurement procedure
otherwise incorrect measurements may be obtained.
• Switch the sliding calliper on or off by using the „ON/OFF" button.
• With the button „0" the display value can be reset to „0". Thus, both an absolute measurement and
a relative measurement (difference) are possible.
• The key „mm/in" is used to switch between the measurement units „mm" and „inch".
• Pay attention, to ensure the sliding calliper does not become catch in a wedged or inclined fashion
since this may lead to incorrect measurements.
• By moving the measuring rail, the desired depth measurement can be performed.
Maintenance and Care
Clean the sliding calliper with a dry, clean and soft cloth. Keep water or other liquids away from the slid-
ing calliper since they may cause corrosion. If required, you can clean the surfaces of the measuring
bridge and test prod with a suitable oil. Carefully, wipe the surfaces clean afterwards.
