instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will be void!
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not allowed for safety and approval
reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the radio opening-detector trans-
mitter emits only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to malfunction of life-support systems.
The same may be the case in other areas.
• The product must not get damp or wet!
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where combustible gases,
vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical
stress.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for children.
Battery notes
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by children or domestic
animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fi re. There is a risk of explo-
sion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion!
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
Controls

3 "OFF" key, Switch off
4 1 battery of type CR2032
Inserting/Replacing the Batteries
Delivery includes a CR2032 type battery. This is possibly already inserted in the battery compart-
ment.
• Open the battery compartment of the radio mini-remote, simply pry the two halves apart carefully (eg with a fi nger
nail).
The two halves are just clipped together. Do not use any force during the disassembly.
Then place a type CR2032 battery inside, observing the correct polarity. The plus pole of the button cells points
from you outward.
• Place the housing cover and press the two halves together carefully so that the retaining clips snap into place. Do
not exert any force.
• The batteries need to be replaced if the range of the hand-held radio transmitter is signifi cantly reduced or the
control LED (1) no longer lights when the buttons are used.
Operation
a) Programming a radio receiver to the radio opening-detector
Up to 10 different remote controls can be assigned to each radio receiver of the RSL-system.
• Shift the radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incoporated switch, a radio-controlled socket or the like) to programming
mode. Please refer to the operating manual of the radio receiver (usually press the button on the wireless receiver
for more than 3 seconds, until the LED begins to fl ash on the radio receiver).
• Press the button in the battery compartment of the radio-opening detector (at least 3 seconds), until the light stops
fl ashing on the radio receiver and remains lit instead. The load connected to the radio receiver is switched on. Let
go of the button and the association process will be complete. You can now turn off the radio receiver from the radio
mini-remote on / off button.

b) Deletion of a previously saved receiver from the Mini Remote Control
• Shift the radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incorporated switch, a radio-controlled socket, etc.) to the programming mode.
Please refer to the operating manual of the radio receiver (usually press the button on the wireless receiver for more
than 3 seconds, until the LED begins to fl ash on the radio receiver).
In order for the (already assigned) radio receiver to be deleted, switch to the learning mode by clicking
the "ON" and "OFF" buttons on the radio mini-remote control simultaneously for 3 seconds.
This can be uses for example, if a wireless switch for panel mounting is inaccessible and you can not
press its buttons.
• Press the button in the battery compartment of the radio opening-detector (for at least 3 seconds), until the light
stops fl ashing on the radio receiver and goes out instead. When the load connected to the radio receiver is turned
off, the assigning mode is fi nished. The wireless receiver will not respond to the radio controlled mini-remote
control.
c) Turning on/ off the radio receiver
• If it has not been done, you must fi rst programme a radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incorporated switch or a radio-
controlled socket) in the RSL system of the radio opening-detector. Make sure that the radio receiver is ready-to-
operate.
• Briefl y press the "ON" button to turn on the radio receiver and the connected user.
• Briefl y press the "OFF" button to turn off the radio receiver and the connected user.
• If the radio receivers have a dimming function, read carefully its operating instructions.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Apart from the the occasional battery change the product is maintenance-free for you.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the casing or
impair the operation.
Disposal
a) In general
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove the inserted battery and dispose it of separately from the product.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable
batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries / rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that dispos-
al in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium,
Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your community's col-
lection point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfi l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
Information about the range
The radio opening-detector has a range of up to 30 m.
However, this range is the so-called "free-fi eld range" (range with line of sight between the transmitter
and receiver and without interference).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc. between the transmitter and
the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different infl uences on the radio transmission, no specifi c range can be guaranteed. However,
trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated / metal vapour deposition coated insulating glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled head-
phones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby monitors etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
