boards and paint them gold. Make up the rope 115 braiding together three pieces of thread, all the same length, to achieve the right
thickness. Glue the shanks 116 to the anchors 117 and paint them dark grey. The hawses 118 have been painted in black gloss before
gluing them to the hull. Make a hole in the hawses, large enough for the shank to enter and glue the hawses 119 to each of the bulwark
eyelets. Previously paint the hawses using black gloss paint.
PHOTO 86: Cut the fenders 120 and glue them, once varnished, to the sides of the bulwarks. The tyres 121 are tied into place using
the thread 122 and an eyebolt B. Cut three lengths of cable 98 and fit them as shown in the image. The cables 123 are also braided
together to make them thicker. Dye one of these a brownish colour. Cut out the nameplate 124 and glue it to the stern.
PHOTO 87: Make up the cabin using the parts 125 to 134. At the back glue into place the partner ventilators 135. These should be
almost flush with the back of the house and recessed in the base by around 10 mm. Insert a few pins into each corner of the partner.
Check out the previous steps to get a better idea.
PHOTO 88: Line the base of the cabin using the planking sheets 136, respecting the limits of the slots. Line the bulkhead using the
planking sheets 137. Make up the shelves and rack using the strips 138. Insert bent pins into the rack as a hanger. You can also imitate
sowesters by using a little tissue paper or yellow plastic.
PHOTO 89: Find the parts 139 to 143. Line the interior using the sheets 144. The slots must not be covered over as they serve to fit the
parts to the main module. A black crossways line has been drawn along the length of these parts.
PHOTO 90: Assemble the parts of the module. Fill and sand down the joints, to unify the surfaces, before painting.
PHOTO 91: Line the outside of the cabin using the sheets 145. The base 146 and the panel 147 are fitted inside. The top is painted
mat white and then the interior of the windows are framed, using the strips 148 & 149.
PHOTO 92: Make up and cut out another section of grating 150 to the indicated size. Frame this assembly using the strips 151 & 152.
PHOTO 93: Decorate the part 153, painting it colour old-gold and glue on the decoration 154. Part 155 is the base for the control
switchboard 156. Paint the base 155 mat black and glue on the control switchboard 156. Using a length of rod 157, make up the levers
and then attach three pins with their heads painted black.
PHOTO 94: Paint the binnacle 158 a new gold colour and glue it centred. The helm wheel 160 is fixed in place with a brass bracket-
shaped hub 159. Paint the helm an old copper colour. Fit the rest of the parts assembled in the last two steps.
PHOTO 95: Mount the bench seat 162 with its backrest 161. Glue a length of the rod 163 to the table 164 as a leg.
PHOTO 96: Line the cabin roof 165 using the liner 166, but only on one side. Use the strips 167, 168, 169 & 170 to frame it. Paint the
inside white and add the lamps 171, painted gold.
PHOTO 97: Fit the cabin door in place and attach a pin A, as a handle. Fit the adornments 172, 173 & 174 to the outline of the cabin.
Paint the steps 175 dark grey and fit them under the door.
PHOTO 98: Fit the rings 177 in place on the tube of the funnel 176. Varnish this assembly, using pore-filler varnish, and then paint it
black, white and grey. Add the tube 178 and the whistle 179, already decorated, to this assembly.
PHOTO 99: Glue the funnel to the cabin and tie it down with turnbuckles 180 and braces 181. The turnbuckles are attached to the base
with eyebolts B. Incorporate the bars 183 to the side lights 182. Paint the sidelights gold, the turnbuckles black and the braces brown.
PHOTO 100: Make up the two assemblies for the launches using the parts 184, 185 & 186. The best thing is to take measurements
from the model in order to ensure they are well adjusted. Check out the following steps to get an idea.
PHOTO 101: Make up the handrails 187, 188, 189, 190 & 192. These parts are distributed in various locations around the cabin.
PHOTO 102: Make up the ventilators 194 on two lengths of rod 193. Make a small hole in one side of the rod to hold it in place better.
Paint the ventilators in old gold colour, bright red and black.
PHOTO 103: Glue the ventilators 194 to the cabin partners, along with two side lights 182, the step 175 and the handrails indicated.
Make up the steps using the strips 191.
PHOTO 104: Glue the columns 195 and onto them the handrails 196 & 197. Make up two lanterns 199 son their bases 198 and
decorate them.
PHOTO 105: Make up the position finder using the parts 200, 201 y 202. Using strips make up the light box 204 & 205. Decorate these
assemblies and glue them into place on the cabin roof.
PHOTO 106: Frame the bottom part of the cabin using two strips 206 & 207. Also centre and attach the launches bridge. Make up the
derrick 208 and its finishing piece 209, attaching an eyebolt B and the halyard 210.
PHOTOS 107 - 109: Glue the chocks 211 & 212 onto the bridges and attach eyebolts B on both sides. Make up and decorate the other
parts and fit them to the back of the cabin. The supports 216 are made up from the sheet of brass, giving them a hook shape.
PHOTO 110: Make up the skylight assembly with the parts 217 to 223. Unify the joints and fill in any gaps before painting.
PHOTOS 111 & 112: Frame the bottom part with the strips 224 & 225. Make up the handrails 187. Add the bars 183 to the port covers
226 and decorate them in gold and dark grey before gluing them to the skylight.
PHOTO 113: True up all of the parts that make up the skeleton of the launch 227 to 236 and fit them without gluing to the false keel
PHOTO 114: Fit the false keel and the central frame 232 onto the base 237. Glue the false keel and all of the frames to the base 237
using quick drying glue so that they are held in place. Add the bow reinforcements 238.
PHOTO 115: Glue all of the frames in their contact area with the false keel and then attach the transom 239, using quick drying glue.
Paint the whole assembly brown. Once it has been well glued sand down from bow o stern to bevel the edges of the frames and
establish a good base for lining the hull.
PHOTO 116: The lining 240 is fitted working from the false keel up to the middle of the hull. The frames, in the part closest to the base,
are marked, indicating where to fit the first lining strip, for this operation use fast drying glue. The lining finish ends in the centre of the
hull with two strips sharpened at both ends. The lining must be done in the same way on both sides of the hull. In order to ensure the
best possible finish use furniture repair putty to fill in the gaps between the strips and then gently sand down the whole surface. If you
want you can paint the hull a cream colour.
