General safety precautions
The product you have bought has been made using state-of-the-art technology and complies with accepted safety
standards. However, there are certain potential hazards. Use the induction hotplate only if it is in perfect condition and
follow these operating instructions! Only use the appliance for its intended purpose.
Attention: To avoid possible injuries or electric shocks, remember the following precautions:
Never touch the appliance or the plug with wet hands.
Never connect the appliance to the same socket as other appliances. Connect the appliance to a suitable socket.
Never move the appliance by pulling on the power cord.
Do not move the induction hotplate while it is cooking or with hot cooking utensils on it.
Do not place empty containers on the appliance.
Do not place metal objects on the appliance.
Regularly check the power cord for damage. Never operate the appliance if the power cord is damaged. If the power
cord is not in good condition, change it at an authorised service centre.
Never use the appliance if it is malfunctioning, is damaged or has been dropped.
Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Keep away from children and people who are not able
to use it.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or other hot liquids and do not wash in the dishwasher.
Do not use the appliance on a metal table.
Repair and maintenance of the appliance can only be performed by qualified experts, using original spare parts and
accessories. Never try to repair the appliance yourself!
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its authorised service centre or by a
qualified technician in order to avoid hazards.
This product must not be used by children or by other people without assistance or supervision if their physical,
sensory or mental condition limits safe use of the appliance. Children must be watched to make sure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Installing the appliance
Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface.
Never place the appliance on an inflammable surface (e.g., dishcloth, carpet, etc.).
Do not block the appliance's ventilation holes. This could cause it to overheat. Place at least 5 - 10 cm from walls
and other objects.
Do not place the induction hotplate near appliances or objects that are sensitive to magnetic fields (e.g., radios, TV
sets, cassette recorders, etc.).
Do not place the induction hotplate near fires, heaters or other sources of heat.
Make sure that the power cord is not damaged or squashed under the appliance.
Make sure that the power cord is not touching sharp edges and/or hot surfaces.
Handling the appliance
Before turning on the appliance, check that the voltage rating appearing on the nameplate matches your home's
mains voltage. A faulty connection may seriously damage the appliance and cause injuries.
The hotplate's surface is made of heat-resistant "black glass". If it is damaged, unplug the appliance immediately
from the mains and send to an authorised service centre.
We advise that you do not place metal kitchen utensils, saucepan or frying pan lids, knives or other metal objects
on the hotplate. They may become hot when the appliance is turned on.
Do not place magnetic objects such as credit cards, cassettes, etc., on the "black glass" surface while the appliance
is operating.
To avoid overheating, do not place aluminium foil or metal dishes on the appliance.
Do not insert objects such as wires or tools in the ventilation holes. This can cause electric shocks.
Do not touch the hot "black glass" surface. Although the induction hotplate does not heat during cooking, the
temperature of the cooking utensils does heat the hotplate!
Do not heat unopened cans on the induction hotplate. Heated cans may explode so they must at least be opened
first.
Scientific tests have shown that induction hotplates are not dangerous. However, people who have pacemakers
should keep at least 60 cm from the appliance while it is operating.
