AC Schnitzer Aluminium Gear Knob with Digital Gear Display
2. Fitting the AC Schnitzer Gear Knob
Remove centre console by:
Removing gear knob
Removing gear gaiter
At a suitable site, create an adhesive contact surface ( 1 ) by
removing any insulating material ( Fig. 1 ).
Glue the electronics box ( 1 ) to the smooth/flat surface. To
avoid overheating, ensure that the electronics box is not
mounted on heating elements or ducts ( Fig. 2 ).
Connect the red line ( 1 ) to a vehicle power line ( 2 ) which is
powered via the ignition switch; connect the black line ( 3 ) to
ground ( 4 ) ( Fig. 3 ).
Note!
Note polarity:
red = positive ( terminal 15 )
black = ground
Push clamping ring ( 1 ) over the gaiter ( 2 ), ensuring that the
setscrew ( 3 ) faces the back. Mount clamping ring with radius
at the bottom. At the level of the setscrew ( 3 ), cut a small hole
in the gaiter for the clamping ring fixing screw ( Fig. 4 ).
Note!
Do not cut the hole too large.
