Use of different foam agents
Foam agents from different manufacturers and different
products or types must not be mixed. Applied extinguishing
foams are compatible without any problems.

Getting the device ready for operation

The medium expansion foam pistol M0,4 is ready for operation at an
admixing rate of 1 %.
Changing the admixing rate by exchanging the pick tube
The admixing rate of either 1 % or 3 % can be changed by exchanging
the pick tube (Fig. 1/10). Ex factory, the pick tube is fitted with the re-
ducer for an admixing rate of 1 %. The pick tube for an admixing rate
of 3 % is loosely enclosed (see details in Fig. 4/2.1 and 2.2).
Pick tube with black reducer for an admixing rate of 1 %
Pick tube without reducer for the an admixing rate of 3 %.
1. Insert the required pick tube up to the stop into the suction inlet of
the medium expansion foam pistol. The reducer must be pointing
downwards towards the bottom of the bottle.
2. Use a waterproof marker to indicate on the type plate (Fig. 1/3) the
admixing rate.
Keep the other (unused) pick tube for future use.
Filling foam agent into the plastic bottle
1. Make sure that the plastic bottle and the pick tube on the medium
expansion foam pistol are dry, clean and not contaminated with
foam agent residue.
2. Fill the foam agent up to approx. 1 cm below the bottle rim.
3. Insert the pick tube of the medium expansion foam pistol into the
plastic bottle and screw the plastic bottle into the thread on the me-
dium expansion foam pistol.
