4. Selecting a location for your station
As is the case with signals received from mobile phone networks
or radio and TV stations, the reception quality of wireless signals
can vary dependent upon time and location. We recommend the
following in order to ensure problem-free station operation.
4.1 Location
The location of the weather station is very important. For
this reason an innovative test function can be used to gauge
reception quality in your home and position the device where
conditions are most favourable.

Whilst carrying out the test, switch on all potential
sources of interference (e.g. television) in the room in
which you wish to locate the station.
Set up the station in your preferred location and preferred
orientation, but always at least one metre away from
possible sources of interference.
Activate test mode as described in Section 5.4.
Monitor the receive indicator on the weather station. If
you have found a location with good reception quality,
you can leave the station there; it will retrieve data from
the transmitter automatically.
The time of day and the date will appear on the display
within a matter of minutes.
It can take significantly longer than this for large volumes
of forecast data to be received. From the point at which
it is switched on for the first time, the station will need at
least 24 hours to receive all data in full.
If you change regions after this initial reception phase,
the data associated with the new region will appear
immediately
