E. BATTERY INSTALLATION AND SET UP
To make sure that the charging station for your vehicle functions
correctly:
1. Connect the red cable of the system to the positive pole, the black
cable to the negative and start the vehicle.
2. Connect a digital multimeter to the motorcycle cables; it will indicate
the open circuit voltage.
3. Disconnect the red cable from the battery positive pole. Now the
multimeter will indicate the vehicle charge voltage, which must be
between 14V and 15V. A voltage of less than 14V will not charge
the battery correctly, whereas voltage above 15V will overcharge it,
exposing it to potential damage.
4. Repeat the test at 2000 and 5000 RPM.
5. Turn off the engine and remove the keys. Connect the multimeter (now
in ammeter mode) between one of the two cables (positive or negative)
and the corresponding pole. Current absorption should be less than 1mA.
If the vehicle passes these tests, the lithium battery can be installed:
1. Remove the old battery from the vehicle.
2. Compare the dimensions of the old battery with those of the new one.
3. If necessary, use the spacers included in the packaging to make
sure that the battery is firmly blocked in its space. Thanks to the use
of the spacers, the battery can be installed correctly and have greater
resistance to vibrations and greater heat dissipation.
4. Remove the red cap from the positive pole. The sole purpose of this
cap is to prevent accidental
short circuits during transport.
5. Connect the positive cable (red) to the positive battery pole, marked
with the "+" symbol on the battery. Connect the negative cable (black) to
the negative battery pole, marked with the "-" symbol on the battery.
