Maintenance and Troubleshooting

It is vital to open and close the SmartCase (SC1240 only) wall cabinet monthly to

check that the lock system is working correctly. While doing so, you should take careful note of the
status of the defibrillator (please check manual of AED).
It is also important to check the external condition of the cabinet for any damage, which may

possibly affect its operation.
Upon discovering a defect, please contact your dealer of SmartCase. Depending on the type of defect
it may be advisable to remove the AED and inform the users about the status (unserviceable).

Temperature:

If you have any doubt about the functioning of the electrical heater (outside
temperature lower than 0⁰C / 32⁰F), please remove the defibrillator and contact your dealer of
SmartCase. The SC1230/ 1240 are equipped with an active ventilation system. Around 30⁰C the fan
will be switched on to release the heat from the upper part and taking in cold air from the bottom.
Nevertheless, we recommend installing the cabinet in the shadow to prevent high temperatures
(above 50⁰C).
