8. Operating Instructions


Be aware of the Safety Instructions (Chapter 3)

Please refer to the sketches on the first pages of this manual.
Note:
Infrared thermometers measure the surface temperature of an object.
After a sudden change in the ambient temperature, the Infrared
thermometer has to be adjusted. This may take up to 30 minutes. The
thermometer will only function properly if the internal temperature of the
unit and the ambient temperature are the same.
Menu
To open the function menu, press the MODE button for two seconds.
Use ▲ or ▼ to select the desired function.
To return to normal mode, press the MODE button 2 seconds
The functions
F1 Set temperature unit °C - °F
F2 Set alarm value (default 38°C / 100,4°F)
F3 Adaptation ±3 °C (±5,4 °F)
After prolonged non-use of the PAN IR-T42 MED, an adjustment should be
made. (▲ and ▼ button)
(This function is only available in BODY mode.)
F4 alarm on / off
F5 Only for the service professional.
Do not use this function!

Measured value memory

The device stores the last 32 readings. To retrieve them, do the following:
