Electrical connectors

Bus connection

The AS-i bus connection (yellow AS-i profile cable) is
plugged in and screwed down at the AS-i (X7A)
connection. Please observe the maximum current
consumption according to the AS-i specifications.

Power supply

The power supply (black profile cable) is plugged in
and screwed down at the AUX connection (X1S). The
specifications of the operational voltage should be
observed in accordance with the electrical para-
meters. Maximum current consumption via AUX: 30
mA per valve solenoid.
The AUX (X1S) power supply comes from one of the
24 V power supply units independent from the AS-i
bus. The power supply unit must be fitted with a safe
isolation in accordance with EN 60742, classification
VDE 0551. This means that the respective electric
circuits are considered SELV/PLEW electric circuits
in accordance with IEC 60364-4-41.

Sensors

The electrical input modules are connected to the VT
with M12 8-pin (6-pin) lines. Sockets which are not
used should be sealed with an M12 protective cap to
ensure the IP 65 protection class.
The inputs should be wired as shown in table 2.

The inputs and the sensor supply are electrically
connected with the AS-i bus. The connected sensors
should only be operated with the appropriate supply
on the M12 plug. An external supply or grounding is
not permitted.

Addressing

Assignment of the bus address(es)

Connect the AS-i bus connection (X7A) to an AS-i
addressing tool with an addressing cable. Assign
addresses for 1 to 31. Document the addresses in
the label on the module and, if necessary, on the
cable socket label. The address 0 is always
programmed at the factory. A double assignment of
addresses is not permitted. The VT always occupies
the A and B addresses in protocol 2.1.
