The cable is now ready for installation. Please observe minimum cable spacing and
bending radius for installation as well as maximum circuit length per type. Refer to
product data sheet for additional information.
For field termination with longer cold lead requirements we recommend to use our
supply leads or similar types suitable to use with the termination kit.
Note: The heating cable must be in good contact with the object to be heated over
the entire installation!
b.) Process for braided cable:
1. See step 1 through 3 under 1b.)
2. Indicate Contact Point at end of heated section for electrical termination side.
Indicate next contact point and cut cable directly behind it to get a maximum of cold
lead length (approx. 490 mm). Mark cable 70 mm at the end of termination side
(Picture 37). Remove braid with needle or pin at the marked length and drill wires
(Picture 38 and 39). Strip outer sheath of cable with knife and remove coiled wire in
stripped section (Picture 40).
3. Cut conductors to length at 40 mm from stripped end (Picture 41). Strip conductors 7
mm and place shrinking tubes (30 mm) over conductors and drilled braid (Picture 42).
Cut drilled braid to fit if necessary.
