4.4 Full-automatic operation tandem milking parlour

In case of full-automatic operation all gates are automatically operated via the
program in the MPC-2.
It is possible to use a sensor (E) in the exit to check if the exit if free before a
cow is let out. During milking it is possible at the master MPC-2 to switch off
the checking by the sensor. When there is no sensor installed, there is no
checking.
From the cleaning or resting position you set the MPC-2 into the milking
function by means of the operation key cluster removal .
It is also possible to set all MPC s in a row into the milking function. For this
first press the Shift-key and then within 2 seconds the operation key cluster
removal .
In order to start the cow traffic now you have to press the key of the central
entrance gate on the first MPC-2 in the row. This is the so-called master MPC-
2. The central entrance gate opens and the entrance gate of the master MPC-2
opens too. From this moment on the automatic tandem starts operating. If you
use this key on an other MPC in the row at the moment of start up, the
entrance gate of the last tandem box opens.
You can now choose between the options milking with automatic cluster
removal and milking with manual cluster removal , for more information please
refer to chapter 3 (milking).
On the display a dot appears behind the cow number if a cow is standing in the
tandem box. Thereafter both the central rear gate and the rear gate of the next
tandem box open. The following cow can enter now. If a cow is ready after
milking, the front gate opens after a certain set time and the cow can leave the
tandem box. The dot behind the fifth position on the display disappears and a
dot appears behind the sixth position on the display. This means that a cow is
standing in the return passage and has not yet passed the exit sensor. If the
cow passes this sensor the next one is released from the tandem box.
In the figure below the different possibilities on the display are shown.
