Please read the following information prior to installing your Oiltech LOC cooling system.
Mounting
The Oiltech LOC can be mounted in any position. To pre-
vent personal injury, always ensure that the cooling system
is securely fixed. A free space corresponding to minimum
half the height of the matrix should be available in front of
and behind the cooler.
Hydraulic connection
Connect the cooling system as illustrated below using
flexible hydraulic hoses both to and from the cooling
system. We recommend installation in a separate cooling
circuit, i.e. connect the pump directly to the matrix in a
separate circuit. Place the pump suction side as close to
the tank as possible. Use as short a suction line as possible.
The diameter of the suction line should not be inferior to
the pump connection diameter. A larger diameter is recom-
mended. Olaer shall not be held responsible for any con-
sequences due to modification and/or variation with
regard to connections.
Avoid flow rates in access of 1 m/s in the suction line.
Minimise the difference in height between tank fluid level
and the pump. Installation below tank fluid level is
recommended. Consult your local Olaer office. Maxi-
mum negative pump suction pressure is 0,4 bar with oil-
filled pump. An extremely long suction line could cause
problems at initial start-up because of too much air in the
suction line. In such a case, prime the suction line with oil.
Contaminant fluid will reduce pump life. Minimum
25-µm filtration is recommended.
The Oiltech LOC must never be run in such a way
that maximum pump working pressure is exceeded.
This could occur if the system on the pump pres-
sure side is shut or severely throttled, which could
damage the cooling system and cause personal
injury.
The pump is not fitted with pressure relief valve as
standard. Use pressure relief valve if the system is
fitted with shut-off valves etc. and also at cold
startings.
Electrical connection
A thermo-contact can be used to control the oil tempera-
ture. Use a relay if the current load is superior to 10 A at
240V AC. Note! A thermo-contact cannot be used to
control the electrical motor.
Caution!
Electrical connections should be made by a
qualified electrician.
Prior to start-up
Check
the matrix and fan guard for damage,
that all hydraulic connections are tight,
that the cooling system is correctly connected,
that valves and similar components are open at start.
At start
Check that the direction of rotation of the fan is correct.
Noise level
The cooling system is fitted with a QPM low-pressure
pump, designed for low noise level. An inadequate location
could, however, cause increased noise level.
Consult your local Olaer office.
Cleaning of the matrix
The air fins can be cleaned by blowing through with
compressed air. If necessary, a high-pressure washing sys-
tem and degreasing agent can be used.
When using a high-pressure washing system, point
the jet parallel to the air fins. The matrix must be
cool during all cleaning operations.
Should the inside of the matrix require cleaning, it should
be flushed with a degreasing agent. After cleaning, flush
with the same fluid as used in the system itself.
When cleaning or repairing the cooling system,
disconnect all power supplies.
Cleaning of the pump
Olaer shall not be held responsible for any consequences
due to inside cleaning of the pump. In case where the
pump has been run with contaminant fluid, clean it by
running it with clean fluid.
Miscellaneous
In the event of a breakdown, consult your local Olaer
office. Olaer shall not be held responsible for any
consequences due to repair and/or modification made
by the customer.
The fan can generate static electricity by air friction.
Do not put sensitive equipment (electronics etc) in
the immediate vicinity of the cooling system.
Consult your local Olaer office when using high vis-
cosity fluids (e.g. thick lubricating oils) or in case of
cold starting.
Oiltech LOC is designed for use with synthetic oil,
vegetable oil and mineral oil type HL/HLP according to
DIN 51524. Maximum oil temperature 100
o
C.
