Your measurement coprocessor is now installed. Plug in your computer and
turn it on. If it functions normally, go to your software installation procedures.
If you have a problem, refer to the "Troubleshooting" section.
Removal Procedure
In
order to add memory or an FPU to the measurement coprocessor you
will need to remove it from the computer. Read through the measurement
coprocessor installation procedure in the previous section, paying particular
attention to the precautions.
To remove the measurement coprocessor:
1. Observe the previously described precautions to avoid damage from static
electrici ty.
2. Turn off the computer and unplug it. Remove its cover.
3. Disconnect any ribbon cables connecting the measurement coprocessor to
other cards. Remove the HP-IB cable if present.
4. Remove the back-panel retaining screw.
5. Grasp the top edge of the measurement coprocessor at the front and back,
and gently pull up until it is disconnected from the I/O slot connector. Note
that "back" refers to the end of the measurement coprocessor with the HP-IB
connector.
6. Slide the measurement coprocessor up in the guide, raising the front higher
than the back so that the HP-IB connector will disengage from the slot as
you remove the measurement coprocessor from the computer.
7. If you don't intend to reinstall the measurement coprocessor at this time,
replace the slot cover, secure it with its screw, and replace the cover on the
computer.
