12 Prior to the initial commissioning of the M266

In order to ensure that the battery inserted into the device ex factory is fully charged, place the M266 (in Off
mode) into the DS266 docking station. Connect the docking station to the mains using the power supply unit
supplied (Power LED lights up in green), see also Point 5.
The battery charging process has been completed when the 'CHARGE' LED shows a green light. You can
now use the M266 handheld terminal.

13 Handling of the device and docking station

13.1 Charging the power supply unit for the DS266 & M266

The M266 may only be charged in the DS266 docking station with the respective power supply unit.

13.2 Commissioning of the DS266

Put up the DS266 docking station in an even, stable and clean place away from the sunlight. Plug the DC
plug of the power supply unit into the DC socket on the left-hand side of the DS266 (marked with the DC
symbol ).

The M266 battery is a lithium ion battery pack. Lithium ion battery
packs can explode if exposed to fire. Do not disassemble the
battery pack and do not expose it to fire or heat (greater than
60°C).
Only operate the touchscreen using the fingertips or with
a suitable touch-pen. Never use a pen or other sharp objects.
Never position the device in close proximity to heat sources
(heating fans or similar equipment) and never expose it to direct
sunlight, excessive dust sources or shocks.
This is a Class A device (EN55022). This device can cause radio
interferences in living areas.
In this case, the operator may be requested to implement
appropriate measures.

The DS266 docking station is disconnected from the mains by
pulling the mains plug.
The corresponding power socket must be installed near the DS266
and easily accessible.
