Congratulations on your decision to make a Baja Blonde™ speaker
enclosure part of your amplification system. Since 1984, we
here at SWR have been putting everything we know about
instrument amplification into the SWR ® product line. We've
earned a reputation for designing and manufacturing gear that
has changed the way musicians hear themselves. That's why you'll
find our amps, cabinets, and combos on stages and in recording
studios around the world—and why you'll hear SWR on countless
recordings, spanning all genres of music.
TWEETER ATTENUATOR
Controls the Super-Tweeter volume level.
Normally set this at about half, then adjust
as desired. NOTE: High frequencies tend to
accentuate any amplifi er distortion—therefore
reduce levels as needed to reduce harsh tones.
INPUT JACKS
The Baja Blonde™ speaker enclosure features both 1/4"
and Speakon® inputs for convenience. Use the Speakon®
jack whenever possible to take advantage of its superior
power transfer and locking connector. Both inputs are full
range and wired in parallel.
• DO NOT connect a speaker load with a total
impedance below the minimum rating of your
amplifier to prevent damage to your equip-
ment.
• DO NOT connect a speaker load with a total
power handling capacity below the power out-
put rating of your amplifier to prevent damage
to your equipment.
• ALWAYS switch your system power OFF before
connecting or disconnecting speakers.
• ONLY use unshielded speaker cable of 16 gauge
or heavier (e.g. 14 gauge) for speaker connec-
tions. Shielded instrument cable WILL NOT
work and may damage your equipment.
• ONLY connect one amplifier to your speaker
enclosure(s). Two amplifiers WILL NOT work
and may damage your equipment.
Use the impedance and power ratings on your amplifier
and speakers to determine if they are compatible. NOTE:
All SWR® speaker enclosures are wired in parallel (NOT in
series) therefore the following guidelines and illustration
apply only to parallel speaker connections.

Speaker Guidelines
The Baja Blonde™ is a versatile extension speaker designed to
help deliver the full power capabilities of the SWR California
Blonde™ II amplifier. The specially designed 12" SWR speaker
and high-end super-tweeter were chosen to provide the clean,
crisp tones musicians have come to expect from SWR acoustic
amplification products.
Thank you for choosing SWR ® .
Sincerely,

<• Calculated here for you are the impedance (Ω)
loads of various speaker combinations.
The ideal speaker impedance load (total) is the
minimum impedance rating of your amplifier.
Operating below the amp's minimum imped-
ance rating can overheat your amplifier and
cause damage. Operating above the mini-
mum impedance rating, while safe, reduces
the amplifier's maximum power output.
<• As you can see, different speaker combi-
nations can add up to the same impedance
total. What is not shown is how impedance
affects power distribution. When all speakers
are equal, each receives equal power from your
amplifier—However, if impedances are different,
lower impedance speakers will get more power.
For example, if you connect an 8Ω and a 16Ω speak-
er together, the 8–ohm speaker will be twice as loud (and
receive double the power) as the 16-ohm speaker. Take
this into consideration when calculating power handling
capacities and when positioning your speaker enclosures.
