Operator disassembly
Tools required:
Allen key
Ring wrench or open-end wrench
The equipment is subject to pressure!
® Risk of severe injury or death!
Only work on depressurized plant.

Corrosive chemicals!
® Risk of caustic burns!
Wear appropriate protective gear when disassembling.

Hot plant components!
® Risk of burns!
Only work on plant that has cooled down.
G
1. Put on appropriate protective gear.
2. Shut off plant or plant component.
3. Secure against recommissioning.
4. Depressurize the plant or plant component.
5. Completely drain the plant (or plant component) and let it cool down
until the temperature is below the media vaporization temperature and
scalding can be ruled out.
6. Correctly decontaminate, rinse and ventilate the plant or plant
component.
7. Disassemble the operator (see Installation, operating and maintenance
instructions GEMÜ 480 / D480, chapter "Disassembling the operator").
Mounting the gearbox
Tools required:
Allen key
Ring wrench or open-end wrench
Check the position of the butterfl y disc indicated by groove a, rotate

butterfl y disc to correct position if necessary.
® Groove a transverse to piping direction: Butterfl y valve closed.
® Groove a in piping direction: Butterfl y valve open.
Place gearbox 1 on body.

Take care to align the positions of butterfl y disc (groove a) and
G
gearbox 1 (optical position indicator 2).
If necessary, move gearbox 1 to correct position with handwheel 4.
Fix gearbox 1 with spring washers and four screws 3.

Loosen and remove four screws 3 with spring washers.

Remove gearbox 1 upwards.
