Introduction
The Hardness LR Minikit is for the determination of low levels of hardness in water. The
test range is 1 - 50 mg/l CaCO
Calcium and magnesium ions are usually the only once in significant concentrations.

Range
1 - 25 mg/l CaCO
1. Select the sample size 50 ml or 100 ml appropriate to the range under test. Take a
sample of the correct size in the sample container.
2. Add one Hardness LR tablet and shake the container until the tablet disintegrates.
Continue adding Hardness LR tablets one at a time in this manner until the colour
of the solution changes from PLUM-RED to BLUE.
. Total Hardness in water is caused by divalent cations.
