4 Tx (transmitting status) indicator
Lights in green when MPEG bitstream input (DVB
ASI) is being supplied and the output port for ATM
I/O is operating normally.
This indicator lights in red as an alarm in the following
cases:
• The input rate of the MPEG transport stream exceeds
the specified value.
• L-RDI or P-RDI is detected at the ATM input port
(with a BDKP-N1001 or BDKP-N1002 installed).
• FERF or RAI is detected at the ATM input port (with
a BDKP-N1003 or BDKP-N1004 installed).
It goes dark in the following case:
• There is no MPEG bitstream input to the DVB ASI
INPUT connector.
5 Rx (receiving status) indicator
Lights in green when ATM input is being supplied and
the input port for ATM I/O is operating normally.
This indicator lights in red as an alarm in the following
cases:
• An error occurs in ATM data received (AAL1 FEC or
AAL5 CRC error).
• Frame synchronization of physical layers cannot be
achieved .
• ATM cell synchronization cannot be achieved.
• L-AIS, P-AIS or AIS is detected.
• An AU pointer error is detected (with a BDKP-
N1001 or BDKP-N1002 installed).
• RED or IDL is detected (with a BDKP-N1003
installed).
• Frame synchronization of PLCP cannot be achieved
(in PLCP mode with a BDKP-N1003 or BDKP-
N1004 installed).
• PCLP-YEL is detected (in PLCP mode with a BDKP-
N1003 or BDKP-N1004 installed).
• Sync code of the MPEG transport signal received by
MPEG over ATM cannot be detected.
It goes dark in the following case:
• There is no ATM Rx input.
6 ALARM indicator
Flashes or lights in red when an alarm is output from
the ALARM connector on the rear panel.
Lights: When a major alarm is output.
Flashes: When a minor alarm is output.
6 (E)
7 MPEG BIT STREAM I/O connectors
DVB ASI INPUT connector (BNC type): The
MPEG2 bit stream input.
DVB ASI OUTPUT connectors (BNC type): The
MPEG2 serial bit stream output connectors.
Connector 1 and connector 2 supply the same
signal.
8 ATM I/O block
For mounting an optional adapter (BDKP-N1001,
BDKP-N1002, BDKP-N1003, or BDKP-N1004).
Note
When you connect optical fiber cables to the BDKP-
N1001 or BDKP-N1002, take sufficient care to
eliminate static electricity, which may damage the
internal devices.
9 ALARM connector ((D-sub 9-pin)
Outputs alarms (relay-contact output) if trouble occurs.
There are two types of output, major alarm and minor
alarm.
Major alarm is output in a status where the POWER
indicator flashes in red.
Statuses of which the Tx or Rx indicator warns can be
output as minor alarms depending on the internal DIP
switch setting.
For internal switch settings, consult your Sony service
representative.
q; CONTROL connectors
For connecting the host computer to control this unit.
10BASE-T connector (RJ-45 modular jack,
conforming to Ethernet IEEE802.3): To be
controlled via network and for IP over ATM.
Connect to the Ethernet connector of the host
computer via network.
RS-232C connector (D-sub 9-pin, conforming to
RS-232C standards, male): Connect to the
RS-232C connector of the host computer.
qa U (signal ground) terminal
For signal ground. Connect when required.
qs AC IN connector
Connect to an AC power source using the optional AC
power cord.
