CONNECTING THE FOXY ESC
The speed controller can be connected to the motor by soldering directly or with high quality connec-
tors. Always use new connectors, which should be soldered carefully to the cables and insulated with
heat shrink tube.
Use only high quality connectors to connect the ESC to the flight pack as well - 2 mm gold plated
connectors (Pelikan Daniel #7939 or #7940) for currents up to 20A; 3,5 mm (#7941), 4 mm (#7946)
gold plated connectors or DEAN-T (#7949) for currents up to 70A and 6 mm (#7945) or 8 mm (#7948)
gold plated connectors for even higher loads. The maximum length of the battery pack wires should
be within 15 cm (6 inches).
Plug the UNI servo connector cable of the ESC to your receiver throttle output. The ESCs featuring
BEC or SBEC voltage stabilizer will feed your receiver and servos from the flight battery pack. If the
OPTO controllers are used, you will need a separate receiver pack to feed the receiver and servos.

PROGRAMMING THE FOXY ESC
1. Brake: ON/OFF
(1) OFF - Sets the propeller to freewheel when the throttle stick is at the minimum position.
(2) ON - Soft Brake Sets the propeller to the 30% of the brake max. effect when the throttle stick at the
minimum position (Recommended for folding props).
(3) ON - Mid Brake Sets the propeller to the 60% of the brake max. effect when the throttle stick at the
minimum position (Recommended for folding props).
(4) ON - Hard Brake Sets the propeller to the 100% of the brake max. effect when the throttle stick at the
minimum position (Recommended for folding props).
2. Battery type: LiPo / NiCd/NiMH/ Li-Fe
(1) NiCd/NiMH – Sets Low Voltage protection threshold for NiCd/NiMH cells.
(2) LiPo – Sets Low voltage protection threshold for LiPo cells and automatically detects the number
of cells within the pack.
(3) Li-Fe – Sets Low Voltage protection threshold for Li-Fe cells.
Note: Selecting the NiCd/NiMH option for the battery type triggers the ESC to automatically set the
cut-off threshold to the factory default of 60%.The cut-off threshold can then be subsequently altered
through the Low Voltage protection function, if required. The ESC will read the initial voltage of the
NiCd/NiMH pack once it is plugged in and the voltage read will then be used as a reference for the
cutoff voltage threshold.
3. PCO Cut Off Voltage Threshold: Low (2.8V)/ Medium (3.0V)/ High (3.2V)/No Protection
1) For Li-xx packs - number of cells are automatically calculated and requires no user input apart from
defining the battery type. This ESC provides 4 setting options for the low voltage protection thresh-
old; Low (2.8V) / Medium (3.0V) / High (3.2V) / No Protection. For example: the voltage cutoff options
