SELECTION CRITERIA FOR FILTERS

Selection criteria for filters
OptimAir 3000 range gas filters are classified according to filter type (A, B, E
and K) and filter class (1, 2 and 3). A letter and a colour designate the types of
gas filter as follows:

brown

grey

yellow
K
green
P
white
For gas filters A, B, E and K the filter class to be used depends on the possible
maximum concentration of the hazardous gas and the required service time.
Turbo filter devices are only to be used up to certain concentrations of hazardous
substances:
Class TM3
Class TH3
Class TH2
Filter class 1
with gases
Filter class 2
with gases
In each case, the minor value applies for the permitted maximum concentration.

Area of Application
Vapours from organic compounds with a boiling point higher than
65°C.
Inorganic gases and vapours, e.g. Chlorine, hydrogen sulphide,
hydrogen cyanide (not carbon monoxide).
Sulphur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, acid gases.
Ammonia and organic ammonia derivatives.
Particle
up to 500 times the threshold value
up to 100 times the threshold value
up to 20 times the threshold value
up to max. 0.05% by volume (500 ml/m³)
up to max. 0.1% by volume (1000 ml/m³)
