3.3. Safety instructions
Please take careful note of the safety instructions and warnings listed in the following
sections of these Instructions for use in order to reduce health hazards and to avoid
dangerous situations.
Never use the Polyclav
Never heat up to more than 50 °C / 122 °F.
No liability will be accepted in the case of damage caused by an excessive
workload.
Do not leave the Polyclav
It is particularly important to ensure that the lid is correctly positioned and closed
in accordance with the Instructions for use.
The Polyclav pressure vessel is correctly closed when both handles (vessel handle
®
and lid handle) are aligned exactly. Only then may the vessel be pressurized.
Do NOT use gas or unregulated heating units to heat up the Polyclav
vessel – use only adjustable heating units, such as heating plate (REF 070-900-00)
or induction heating plate (REF 070-030-00).
Make sure that the outlet valve  is open before opening the Polyclav
pressure vessel (lever is upright) and that the pressure has reduced completely
(manometer  needle is at "0").
The operating pressure should not exceed 2.2 bar. The safety valve  opens
automatically at 2.5 bar pressure.
The safety valve  must be checked regularly (at least once a month). Increase the
pressure in the Polyclav
If this is not the case, replace the safety valve. Limescale can impair the function
of the safety valve.
For safety reasons, we recommend that your Polyclav
is checked over in our works every two years (depending on extension
of use).
Please note: If repairs at our works are necessary, please always send us
the complete Polyclav
