2.2 Behavior at the Work Place
1. Keep your work place in order. Untidiness may
cause accidents.
2. Take environmental influences into account.
Always provide good lighting (at least 500 lux).
3. Keep other persons away from your work place.
Always work in a concentrated and reasonable
manner. Do not use the saw unless your are
focussed and feel alert.
4. Store the tongs in a safe place. Store any
unused equipment in a dry place.
5. Work Clothes: Never wear loose-fitting clothes
or juwelry as these items may get caught in the
moving parts of the aggregate. Always wear
sturdy footwear while working. Always wear a
hair net!
6. Always retain a regular body posture. Ensure a
safe stand and keep your balance at all times.
7. Take good care of your tools. Always use sharp
and undamaged knives to ensure good and safe
operation.
8. Use only original EFA knives. Comply with the
regulations specified under Replacing the
Knives.
9. Never leave spanners or wrenches attached to
the tool. Before starting the machine, inspect
the saw to ensure all spanners and wrenches
have been removed.
10.Use only original EFA accessories. Warranty is
voided if other accessories are used. If other
tool inserts or accessories are used, there is also
an increased risk of injury to the operator and
other persons.
11.The engine case may not be spot drilled (e.g.
when attaching signs), as this may affect the

efficiency of the protective insulation. We
recommend using stick signs!
12.It is prohibited to modify the machine in any
way. S&W rejects any liability for damages
arising from modified equipment.
3. Commissioning and
Operational Safety
Work Place
The power pack needs to be placed in the
immediate vicinity of the work place (approx. 3 – 5
m). Make sure the work place of the tongs operator
is kept clear and is not shared with any other staff.
3.1 Commissioning
Ensure that the aggregate is
switched off and connect it to the
supply network!
„ For more essential information, e.g. technical
data sheets, drawings, and part lists, refer to
Anhang A "Anhang" (S. 8).
„ Rotational direction according to arrow located
on the fan enclosure (counter-clockwise, check
by inspection through the perforation on the fan
cowling).

„ When starting and airing the aggregate, turn
the directional valve into a switch position in
which the pump can rotate pressure-free
(shown in hydraulics circuit diagram supplied in
the annex) and turn the pump on and off
several times to allow the pump cylinder to air
itself out. If the design of the controller does
not support this feature, you can connect a
screw pipe connection with a short pipe socket
and a transparent slip-on hose to connector P.
The other end of the pipe connection will be
inserted into the opening of the oil filler
(unscrew the screw plug, hold the hose in place
and prevent oil from squirting to the side by
