Guards must be used in compliance with their intended purpose. For example, do not grind with the blade side
surface . The abrasive cutting discs are intended for cutting by their edge, the forces, exerted on such a disc, can cause its
break.
Always use undamaged mounting flanges with diameter corresponding to the selected disc. Proper flanges attach the disc
properly, which reduces the possibility of its breaking.
The outer diameter and thickness of the accessories must be within the range, which is supported by the tool. Acces-
sories of a wrong size can not be adequately protected and controlled.
Arbor diameter and the diameter of the accessory flange must be adapted to the diameter of the tool spindle. Accessories
and flanges with a diameter, that is not matching the spindle of power tool, when they are started, they do not maintain balance,
they will vibrate excessively and can cause loss of control.
Do not use damaged discs. Before each use, you should check the discs for cracks and debris. If the power tool or disc
has been dropped, you should check the damage or mount undamaged discs. You should move yourself and bystanders
away from the plane of the disc rotation, and then run the power tool for one minute at its maximum speed. Damaged
discs usually break during this test.
Use the personal protection equipment . Depending on the mode of operation, you should use the mask protecting your
face, safety glasses or goggles. If it is required, you should wear a face mask, hearing protection, gloves and a protective
apron capable of stop small fragments of the grinding disc or the workpiece. Eye protection must be capable of stopping
flying debris generated during various operations. Dust masks or respiratory protection must filter the particles generated during
operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise can cause hearing loss.
Keep bystanders at a safe distance from the workplace. Each person, who is entering the work area, must use personal
protective equipment. Fragments of the workpiece or of damaged disc can fly out and cause injury beyond the immediate
workplace.
During operation, when the cutting tool can come into contact with a hidden live electric cable or its own power supply
cable, the power tool should be held only by insulated grips. A cutting tool in contact with a live conductor can cause that the
metal parts of the electric tool also will be energized, what can cause electric shock to the operator.
You should keep the power supply cord away from rotating accessories. In the case of loss of control, the cable may be cut
or damaged, and palm or the hand of operator can be caught by the rotating disc.
Never put away the power tool before the accessories stop completely. The rotating accessory may grab the surface and
pull the electric tool, causing loss of control over it.
Do not operate the tool when you transport it or do not transport the running power tool. Casual contact with a rotating
accessory can entangle clothing and accessory contact with the body of the operator.
Regularly clean the vents of power tool. The motor fan will draw the dust inside the housing, and the excessive accumulation
of powdered metal can cause electrical hazards.
Do not work with the electric tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials.
Do not use accessories that require liquid cooling. The use of water or other liquid coolants may result in electric shock.
Warnings related to rebounding of the tool towards the operator
Rebound of the tool toward the operator is a sudden reaction to a blocked or clenched rotating disc. Blocking or clamping causes
sudden stopping of the rotating accessory, which results in rotation of the device in opposite direction to the rotation of accessory.
For example, if the grinding wheel is locked or clamped by the workpiece, the edge of disc, that enters the clamping point can
delve into the surface of the material causing that the disc will get out or be thrown out.
The disc may also get out towards or away from the operator, depending on the direction of movement of the grinding wheel in the
place of clamping. Abrasive wheels may also break under these conditions.
Rebounding of the tool towards the operator is the result of misuse and / or failure to follow instructions of this manual. This situ-
ation can be avoided by compliance to the following recommendations.
Use a firm grip tools and adopt the proper position of the body and hands, this will allow you to resist the forces gener-
ated during the rebound. Always use the additional handle, if it is provided with the tool, this will the ensure maximum
control during the rebound or unexpected turn , when you start the tool. The operator is able to control rotation or reboudn-
ing of tool, if appropriate safety precautions are taken.
Never place your hand near the rotating parts of the tool. The rotating elements can, during rebound, come in contact with
the hand.
Do not place the body in the cutting line. Rebounding will drive tool in the direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the
grinding wheel, at the point of seizure.
Be extremely careful when working on corners, sharp edges etc. Avoid tamping and jamming of the grinding wheel. While
working on corners or edges, there is an increased risk of jamming the disc of grinding wheel, which leads to loss of control or to
rebounding of tool.
Do not use the cutting discs with a chiseling chain (milling), the segmented cutting discs with an edge gap larger than 10
mm, or circular saws with teeth. The mentioned discs cause frequent rebounding and loss of the tool control.
Do not "jam" the disc and do not exert excessive pressure. Do not try to increase the depth of cut. Overloading of the disc
can increases the load and result in tendency to twist or jam the disc in a slot, and cause probability of rebounding towards the
operator or the disc rupture .
