• Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for the fi rst time.
Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting surfaces closed (see
„Using the unit"). Then wipe it down with a damp cloth.
• Do not eat the fi rst sandwich.
1. Please remove any packaging that is still present. Unwind the mains lead
completely.
2. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective contact socket. The
red control lamp lights up.
3. Keep the baking unit closed during the warming-up time. When the control
lamp goes off the toasting temperature has been reached.
4. Please open the lid by pressing the button below the handle. Insert one sand-
wich to be toasted into each slot. Then close the lid gently. Block the handle
with the hinge. The red control lamp lights up again.
5. When the control lamp goes off again toasting has fi nished.
6. Open the lid by pressing the button again and remove the toasted sandwiches
with a wooden fork or similar object. Do not use pointed or sharp objects to
avoid damaging the coating of the baking surfaces.
7. The baking section should always be closed in the intervals between baking.
Tip: Lightly spread the outside of the toast (the side that will later be in contact
with the baking surfaces) with butter or margarine so that later it will not be a
problem to remove your sandwich from the baking plates.

• Pull out the mains plug and allow the unit to cool down.
• Brush off the crumbs or remains of the sandwich fi lling from the toasting sur-
faces.
• Clean the machine only with a slightly damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive detergents.
• The machine must never be immersed in water!
