Mounting instructions
The cable reels are designed for wall mounting. Choose a position where the
cable is bent as little as possible against the outlet rollers. Select a level surface
on which to mount the reel. Ensure that suitable fixing bolts are used and
that they are secured. The bolts must each stand at least the following torque
forces:
• Cable reel serie 742: 2300 N
• Cable reel serie 744: 2600 N
Electrical installation
CAUTION!
Main circuit connection must be done by a qualified installation contractor.
Choose a connecting cable with at least the same design and quality as for the
distribution cable. Unscrew the cover and connect the cable conductors to the
terminal block (only on series 742).
The cable reel is supplied without an outlet socket.
The following applies if such a device is to be fitted:
• A minimum protection class of IPX4 to be used.
• The earth (yellow/green cable) should be connected to the applicable
terminal in the outlet socket.
• Strain relief and flexible cable sheaths should be secured.
For series 742 a control switch and an automatic circuit breaker should be
fitted on the cablenet before connection to the reel.
Ratchet mechanism (not fitted on all models)
The cable reel is delivered with a ratchet mechanism which retains the cable
in the required outdrawn position. The ratchet will disengage if the cable is
drawn out a little further and the cable then recoiles to the drum. It should be
noted that the cable should be held by the hand as long as possible during the
recoiling.
