Swivelling the drive head

Warning! Always remove the rechargeable bat-
tery before inspection and adjustment work.
The telescopic pruner is equipped with a swivelling drive
head. The drive head can be clicked into 4 different
positions within a 67.5° arc by means of a spring button.
Make sure that the drive head is clicked into the correct
position before connecting the telescopic pruner to the
power supply. Try to turn the drive head in both direc-
tions to verify this. The drive head should be engaged
in its position and should not rotate. Heed the following
instructions to swivel the drive head.
1. Press the round button (2) on the side of the swivel sa-
feguard. The button is spring-loaded so that resistance
can be felt when it is pressed.
2. Hold onto the motor housing of the drive head and turn
the drive head into one of the 4 positions.
3. Release the round button.
It should jump back to its closed position. If not, carefully
turn the drive head forwards and backwards until the
button jumps back to its closed position. The drive head
is now locked in its position and ready for use.

Trimming

(Figs. 6 and 7)
- Make sure the device is running at full speed before
trying to make a cut.
- Hold the device firmly in position to avoid any impacts
or sideways movements of the device
- Guide the device through the branch by using slight
pressure
To cut heavy branches where a special cut might splinter
and damage the tree, proceed as follows:
- Make the first cut on the underside of the main branch
15 cm away from the tree trunk. Use the upper side of
the guide rail (4) to make this cut.
- Cut through 1/3 of the main branch diameter. Then cut
from the top downwards

Cleaning, maintenance and storage

Always remove the rechargeable battery from the
pruner before working on the machine.
Your device has been designed operation over a long
period with little maintenance. Permanent satisfactory
operation depends on diligent care and regular cleaning
of the device.
Your charger does not require any maintenance apart
from regular cleaning.
Warning: Before performing any maintenance on
the device, remove the battery. Unplug the charger
before cleaning it.
Warning! Always wear work gloves when atta-
ching or removing the saw chain. The saw chain
is sharp and can cut you when it is not running.
After use and prior to storage
- Clean the ventilation slots regularly with a clean, dry
paintbrush

Safety instructions

Attention! Read all instructions contained here-
in. Failure to observe the following instructions
may result in electric shock, burns and/or severe
injury. The term 'power tool' used in the follow-
ing includes both mains-operated tools (with
mains supply) and battery-operated tools (with-
out mains supply).
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
1) Working area
a) Keep your working area clean and tidy.
Untidy and poorly lit working areas may lead
to accidents.
b) Do not operate the tool in potentially
explosive environments containing com-
bustible fluids, gases or dusts. Power
tools generate sparks that may ignite dusts
or fumes.
c) Keep children and other persons away
when you are operating the power tool.
Distractions may result in the operator loos-
ing control over the tool.
2) Electrical safety
a) The mains plug of the power tool must
fit into the mains socket. The plug must
not be modified in any way. Do not use
adapter plugs/connectors in combina-
tion with tools with protective earthing.
Unmodified plugs and fitting sockets reduce
the risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed sur-
faces as pipes, heaters, ovens and re-
frigerators. There is an increased risk of
electric shock if your body earthed.
c) Keep the tool out of the rain. The penetra-
tion of water into a power tool increases the
risk of electric shock.
