Coffee making instructions
1
Place the glass jug centered under the two outlet holes of the filter holder.
Put a 1x4
Pour Over coffee filters. These have been specially developed for hand
filtration.
2
Put the required amount of coffee in the coffee filter. We recommend using
50 – 60 g of coffee per litre of water.
To make a full glass jug of coffee, approx. 800 ml of water will be needed.
This requires 40 – 48 g of ground coffee. We recommend grinding the coffee
®
shortly before brewing using a medium sized grind.
3
The ideal brewing temperature is between 92 – 96°C (remove the kettle with
boiling water from the heat source and allow it to cool for a short time).
4
Start by moistening the coffee grounds with the filter valve closed (‚1st pour').
Pour the water slowly with circular movements from the centre to the outside
until all the coffee grounds are moistened.
In this phase (‚blooming') the coffee grounds swell up and roasting gases
escape. Wait 10 – 20 seconds then open the filter valve.
5
Pour the remaining water slowly (‚2nd pour'). Make sure that the water
always comes into contact with the ground coffee. Do not pour on the edge
of the paper filter. Pour at the same speed as the coffee flows through. This
ensures that the coffee in the filter always stays at the same, ideal height to
extract the flavour substances in the best possible way.
