SOS' MODE FUNCTIONS AND PRECHARGE TIME SETTING
The 'SOS' mode has two functions:
1. Starting vehicles with deep-discharged batteries. In this case, refer to the part "Use in starter mode".
2. Start vehicles with very long preload times. By default, the precharge times are set to 20 s and 120 s
(in'SOS' mode). Some vehicles require a significant preload time before any attempt to start (e.g. helicopters, bio-
gas buses, etc.). In this case, set the precharge time before the start procedure:
Select the standard precharge
time: 10, 20 (default), ... 120 s.
Validate the standard precharge
time. The setting of the 'SOS'
mode is proposed.
Exit the "Precharge time setting"
mode without configuring the time
in 'SOS' mode.
In SOS mode, there are no more protections (on the 12 V / 24 V voltage, in case of polarity reversal...) .
The time setting can damage the battery:
- if the preheating time is too long, the battery can be deeply discharged.
- in the event of too violent a start due to a defect other than the battery.
