P Protect the appliance against dust, dirt and insects. Cover the appliance with a sheet so
that it is protected from impurities and damage or malfunctions caused by this.
Do not cover the appliance until it has fully cooled down.
P Protect the unused appliance against the effects of the weather. Store in a dry, closed
place inaccessible to children.

Repacking for private transport purposes

Always pack the appliance in its original packaging for transportation to prevent trans-
port damage. Make sure that the appliance is adequately padded and protected against
knocks. Transport damage is not covered within the scope of warranty.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Safety measures
P Only begin the cleaning and maintenance work once the appliance has completely
cooled down.
P Pull the mains plug out of the socket before beginning cleaning and maintenance work.

Cleaning and maintenance by users
5.2.1 Cleaning
Container and surface cleaning
1. Empty the container after finishing your work. Make sure that the ash has completely
cooled down.
2. Only clean both the container as well as the surfaces (e.g. motor cover) with a dry cloth.
Always clean the appliance outside your home.
Filter cleaning
1. Open the container cover and remove the fluted filter.
2. Clean the filter thoroughly by tapping the dust off or blowing it out with compressed air.
3. Close the filter together with the container cover.
