Only use extension cables approved for outdoors when working in the open air. The
plug and socket must be waterproof and the cable must have the following cross
section corresponding to the required length: 1.5 mm 2 with a maximum length of 10
m or 2.5 mm 2 at a maximum length of 15 m. Unsuitable extension cables can be
dangerous!
2. Start the appliance by setting the ON/OFF switch to position I.
3. Begin your work. Always pay attention to the following information when using the ash
vacuum cleaner:
P Only use use this appliance to vacuum up cold ash from wood or pellet stoves.
This appliance is not suitable for vacuum cleaning heating boilers nor for
taking up plaster or cement dust.
P Always make sure that both the stove and the ash have fully cooled down before
beginning your work. Never take up glowing embers. If you only notice that the
ash is still hot during your work, stop the vacuuming immediately. Do not continue
your work until you are sure that the ash has fully cooled down.
P Always use the suction tube for vacuuming ash. Hold the suction tube at a mini-
mum distance of about 1 cm above the ash. Never hold the suction tube directly
vertical but instead at a slight angle to the material to be vacuumed so that a
vacuum cannot result.
P The container may not be filled beyond half full. Always ensure that the fluted
filter remains free at all times.
P Switch off the motor if the suction power declines and clean the fluted filter as
described in Chapter 5.2.
P Switch off the motor if you notice a change in the operating noise and clean the
fluted filter as described in Chapter 5.2.
