6.3. Replacing the external unit

All programmed data such as serial numbers and parameters are stored in the EEPROM. If the external unit needs to be replaced, the EEPROM storage can be

removed from the programmed external unit and installed into the new, comparable external unit. This is done as follows:

1. Save the database (see programming guide PH010-285).

2. Open the housing.

3. Disconnect the display from the power supply: pull off the connection socket.

4. The EEPROM storage is located in the electronic part of the display module. Remove the EEPROM storage.

5. Click the EEPROM into the new external unit (display module).

Ensure that the electronic components are aimed towards you when placing the EEPROM.

6. Reconnect the external unit to mains voltage.

7. Load the database (see programming guide PH010-285).

After loading has been completed (step 7), remove the EEPROM from the display module. Otherwise the real-time clock will no longer work.

8. MAINTENANCE

With the following maintenance tips you will avoid surface damage:

• Clean the product with some soap and a damp cloth.

• Never use:

- abrasive sponges or abrasive detergents;

- maintenance products that contain solvents or acids, or cleaning products containing acetic acid.

9. WARNINGS REGARDING INSTALLATION

• The installation should be carried out by a registered installer and in compliance with the statutory regulations.

• This user manual should be presented to the user. It should be included in the electrical installation file, and it should be passed on to any new owners. Additional

copies are available on the Niko website or via the Niko support service.

• During installation, the following should be taken into account (non-exhaustive list):

- the statutory laws, standards and regulations.

- the technology currently available at the time of installation.

- this user manual, which only states general regulations and should therefore be read within the scope of each specific installation.

- the rules of proper workmanship.
