■ Replace / do not use a defective breathing protection hood.
■ Send defective breathing protection hoods to SATA for repairs.
■ Do not make changes to the breathing protection hood.
Cleaning
■ Never use acidic or alkaline cleaning agents to clean the breathing
protection hood.
■ Never use cleaning agents based on halogenated hydrocarbons.
Point of use
■ The breathing protection hood is intended for connection to a stationary
compressed air supply system.
■ Use compressed air suitable for breathing purposes (breathing air in
accordance with DIN EN 12021 only).
■ For your own safety, ensure that the safety compressed air supply hose
cannot be connected to systems conveying other substances.
■ The use of oxygen or oxygen-enriched air is not permitted.
■ Remove any contamination of the breathing air caused by the compres-
sor, e.g. oil mist, using an activated charcoal absorber.
■ Before using the breathing protection hood, ensure that the air drawn in
from the compressor is free from harmful gases, vapours and particles
and meets the requirements of DIN EN 12021.
■ The water content in the breathing air should remain within the limits of
DIN EN 12021 to prevent the unit from freezing.
■ The breathing protection hood must not be used in situations where
flammability can pose a hazard.
■ The "F" label indicates that the compressed air supply tube can be used
in situations in which flammability can be a hazard.
■ Do not use in confined spaces, oxygen-poor environment (<19.5%),
with oxygen-enriched environment (> 23%) or in places where there is
an immediate danger to life and health.
■ The breathing protection hood must not be used in situations where 100
times the workplace limit (MWC value) is exceeded.
■ When using the equipment below an ambient temperature of +5 °C, the
visor foil must be treated on the inside with an approved anti-fogging
agent. SATA recommends here: Klarsichtmittel 75 – Art. No. 6700470
from Drägerwerk AG, Moislinger Allee 53-55, 23542 Lübeck or Klar-
