Toiletry additives
Certain natural products added to the bath water can be just as
important as the effect of the bubbles. In fact, there are many me-
dicinal and cosmetic substances which have excellent stimulating,
relaxing, slimming, etc., properties. These substances must be
solubles and not lathered.
Water temperature
It is important to control the water temperature. The best advice
we can give is that the temperature of the bath should be what
each individual considers pleasant, bearing in mind that, as a rule,
the hotter the water, the shorter the bath time should be. In any
event, NEVER fill the bath with water hotter than 50
If using an instant heater or combination boiler, they must guaran-
tee the pressure and consumption levels stated above. If the output
power is less than 20,000 Kcal/hour, high temperatures cannot
be maintained during certain functions, and a loss of pressure or
temperature will be noted.
If the boiler switches off and cold water comes out, first clean
the filters of the thermostatic taps, and if the problem continues,
adjust the temperature and the flow of the boiler as required. If you
do not manage to solve the problem, please consult the boiler’s
after-sale service.

PRECAUTIONS

- In spite of the preventive and relaxing therapeutic effects of hydro-
massage, it is important to note that in the case of acute conditions,
uncompensated heart disease, serious hypertension or certain in-
fectious diseases, and in the case of certain groups (children, the
elderly, and pregnant women), certain special conditions regarding
bath duration, temperature and frequency must be borne in mind. In
these situations it is advisable to consult your doctor first.
- It is recommended not to take a bath directly after drinking alcohol
or having a meal.
- Do not use foam-bath products with the whirlpool since the
amount of foam produced could lead to overflows.

CLEANING CYCLE

To ensure correct operation of the different spa functions, the bath
has a series of internal pipes through which the water and the air
flow. Their structure is such that they become emptied along with
the bath water. However, it is possible that small amounts of water
may remain on the walls of these pipes. Due to the micro-organis-
ms that are sloughed from the human body during bathing, if the
bath is not used for a while, these remains can form contaminated
nuclei which lead to unpleasant odours. To keep your bath in top
condition in terms of hygiene, before letting the waste water away
run through the cleaning cycle described below. This will make
sure that the small remains of water and the inner walls of the
pipes are absolutely clean.
SELF-CLEAN LIQUID
For the cleaning cycle use only Roca Self-Clean Liquid which is
especially for this purpose. You will find it available at any Roca
stockist.
PERIODICITY
As a rule, the cleaning cycle should be carried out after every spa
bath, certainly at least every 10 or 15 days, and especially when the
bath is not likely to be used for a prolonged period, for example, if
you are going away on holiday. Should you notice any unpleasant
odours before bathing, fill the bathtub to just above the jets, run
through the cleaning cycle and let the water away. After this you
will be able to bathe in optimum conditions of hygiene. In the event
that the bath is used by more than one person, it is necessary to
run through the cleaning cycle after each use.
STAGES
The cycle should consist of the following stages:
1. Dosing. Measure out 100 ml of Self-clean Liquid (about half a
glass) and pour it into the bath full of water.
2. Distribution. Switch on the water massage. Switch off after
two minutes. This distributes the liquid evenly throughout the
circuits.
3. Cleaning. Leave the Self-clean Liquid to do its job for 20 minutes,
after which the bath water and the inner walls of the pipes will be

free of micro-organisms. The bathtub may now be emptied.

MAINTENANCE

ACRYLIC BATHS
If you have purchased an acrylic bath you will need to adhere to
certain guidelines regarding their cleaning and maintenance.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive products for cleaning the bath as
they might damage its surface.
- To disinfect the bath, use the ROCA self-cleaning liquid; if not
available, use a few drops of bleach mixed into the bath water.
DO NOT use disinfectants that contain phenol.
- After each use it is advisable to rinse and dry the bath well to
avoid lime deposits.
- Use only water and soap for cleaning the bath. Dry with a cloth
or a soft brush that will not scratch the surface.
- If the surface is glossy, possible scratches may be eliminated as
follows: rub with fine wet-type emery paper (nº 800) and restore
the original gloss using a solvent-free polish such as the type used
on car paints.
- Do not use alcohol or any alcohol-based chemical product to
clean the plastic parts, such as pushbuttons or controls. To remove
lime deposits, use very dilute vinegar (acetic acid); never use off-
the-shelf chemical products.
UPKEEP AND REPAIRS
As mentioned at the beginning of this manual, provision must
be made for access to the underside of the bath for possible
repair purposes, either through removal of the side panel or via
an access door. However, it is important to note that specialist
knowledge is required for repairing the mechanisms of this type
of bath. Therefore, in the event of your detecting any faults please
