7. Unlock the table bracket lock (2) and raise the table
until it is 25 mm below the tip of the chuck (1). Lock
the table bracket lock. (Fig. 14)
8. Turn the feed handles (3) counterclockwise,
lowering the chuck. Force the chuck against the
table until it is securely pressed onto the spindle.
(Fig. 14)
INSTALLING THE CHUCK (WITHOUT ARBOR)
1. Clean out the tapered hole in the chuck and clean
the spindle nose with a clean cloth before pushing
up the chuck onto the spindle nose.
2. Turn the chuck sleeve anticlockwise (when viewed
from above) and open the jaws in the chuck
completely.
3. Place a block of wood on the drill press table and
lower the spindle until the chuck contacts the piece
of wood. Apply pressure to properly seat the chuck.
INSTALLING THE CHUCK GUARD ASSEMBLY
1. Put the nut (5) into the chuck guard hole (6).
2. Make the bolt (8) go through hole (7), bracket (10)
and hole (6) and then tighten.
3. Secure the bracket (10) with the two screw (11)
onto the laser assembly (13) and then tighten.
4. Tighten the lock knob (12) into the bracket (11) to
adjust position of the chuck guard.
INSTALLING BATTERY FOR LASER GUIDE
1. Open the cover of the battery box.
2. Install 2 pieces of 1.5V 3A batteries into the battery
box.
3. Replace the cover.
4. Turn on the switch to check the LASER GUIDE.
Note: Replace the batteries with batteries that have
a rating of 1.5 volts (Number 4 series and AAA size
or equivalent). When replacing the batteries, the
battery guide should be thoroughly cleaned. Use a soft
paintbrush or similar device, to remove all dust and
debris.
THE LASER GUIDE
Your tool is equipped with our latest innovation, a
battery powered device using Class 1M laser beams.
The laser beams will enable you to preview the drill bit
path on the workpiece to be drilled before you begin
your operation.
WARNING:
AVOID DIRECT EYE CONTACT
A Laser light is radiated when the laser guide is turned
on. Avoid direct eye contact. Always turn off the laser
and un-plug the drill press from the power source
before making any adjustments.
(FIG. 15)
(Fig. 16)
(Fig. 29)
A laser pointer is not a toy and should not come into
hands of children. Misuse of this appliance can lead
to irreparable eye injuries.
Any adjustment to increase the laser power is
forbidden.
When using the laser pointer, do not point the laser
beam towards people and /or reflecting surfaces.
Even a laser beam of lower intensity may cause
eye damage. Therefore, do not look directly into the
laser beam.
If the laser pointer is stored for more than three
months without use, please remove the batteries to
avoid damage from possibly leaking batteries.
The laser pointer includes no servicing components.
Never open the housing for repair or adjustments.
When the laser point has to be repaired, it should
be carried out to the laser manufacturer or an
authorized agent.
Laser Warning Label: Laser radiation do not view
directly with optical instruments class 1M laser
product <0.39mW, 400-700nm, CW, Acc.IEC
60825-1:2007.
ADJUSTING THE LASER LINES (Fig. 31)
A. How to check the Laser-beam Alignment?
1. Adjust the table height so it is 188mm below the
bottom of the chuck
2. Scribe a round circle (approx. 3mm) on a piece of
scrap wood.
3. Insert a drill bit into the chuck and tighten.
4. Lower the quill and align the scribed circle with the
drill bit & fasten the wood to the table.
5. Turn on the laser and verify the laser lines (x) are
centered onto the scribed circle.
B. Aligning the laser-beam (Fig. 30)
To adjust the laser lines:
1. Lower the drill press quill 25mm and lock into place.
2. Adjust the screws (1) and bolts (2) in or out until the
laser lines (x) are centered onto the scribed circle.
INSTALLING THE OPTIONAL DRILLING JIG
Note:
The drilling jig provides a way of accurately and quickly
setting up the workpiece for more precision or repetitive
drilling operations.
1. Use a center punch or a sharp nail to make a dent
in the workpiece where you want to drill.
2. Lower the drill bit to align with the dent on the
workpiece.
3. Loosen the knobs (1) and slide the drilling jig back
stop (2)firmly against the long side of the workpiece.
Tighten the knob when in position.
